By the time Alicia arrived home, it was a little past seven in the evening. She was shaking the toy monkey by its tail in her hands, feeling much happier than she did in the day. Just as she was about to head upstairs, she heard someone unlocking the front door. She turned around and was met with Frederick, holding a bouquet of lilies in one hand and a box of chocolate in the other.

As soon as their eyes met, Frederick smiled while Alicia pouted back at him.

He walked towards her and handed her the bouquet of lilies. Then, he lowered his head and pecked her on her cheeks. Alicia snorted whilst she glanced at him. Her tone was cold.

"Have you eaten yet?"

Frederick held her with one hand and smiled back at her. "I haven't had anything since lunchtime. I'm about to starve to death!"

She knew that when he was busy, he would not have the time to eat. But when she saw him grinning cheekily, she thought that he deliberately said it to win her sympathy. Alicia pursed her lips.

"It's better that you starve to death! That way, there would be one less mouth to feed!" Lest to irritate her!

Just as she was about to turn around and walk away, she heard his stomach growling. Immediately, she turned back around.

"Tonight... we'll go on a diet! I'll make some noodles."

When Frederick saw how awkward she looked, he reached out and gently pinched her cheeks with a smile. "Whatever you say!"

As soon as Alicia put her things away, her phone suddenly rang. She picked it up and greeted, "Grandma!"

It was Mrs. Clements who called to ask whether she had her dinner yet and invited her over to have a reunion dinner. She also informed Alicia that she had bought her a gift and that she should come over and collect it.

As soon as Alicia hung up the phone, they both hopped into the car and made their way to Mrs. Clements' house.

When they arrived at the door, Mrs. Clements and Miranda came rushing out to greet them. However, when Mrs. Clement saw Frederick, she asked, "Oh, are you not busy tonight?"

Frederick could not help but roll his eyes when he saw the look of disdain on his grandmother's face. "Grandma, do you not want to see me? Which of us is your true biological grandchild?"

Alicia and Mrs. Clements spoke on the phone for more than ten minutes, yet they did not even mention his name! He came over to have a meal, and this was the reaction he got?

Miranda smiled mischievously and then took the gift box from Frederick's hand as she said, "Master Frederick, please come in! Dinner will be served soon!"

Alicia reached out and linked her arm with Mrs. Clements'. She smiled brightly as she spoke.

"Grandma, when did you come back? I missed you so much! I was about to cook some noodles when I received your call! I'm glad that you invited us over for dinner."

"I just got home. I called you as soon as I arrived. I haven't even settled down! I bought you a small golden statue for you. It's to keep you safe!"

They spoke as they walked. Before they knew it, they had arrived at the dining table. Frederick shook his head when he saw the two women in front of him engaged in a conversation. His gaze was extremely gentle.

Soon, the dishes were served on the table. There were several vegetarian dishes as well as fish and some soup. These were all Alicia's favorite dishes. As Alicia swept her eyes across the table, she knew that Mrs. Clements had specifically asked the chef to prepare them. The last dish to be served was a steak dish, which she guessed was for Frederick.

As soon as all the food was served, they picked up their cutlery and began eating. They ate and chatted casually. Alicia was excited when Mrs. Clements told them all about her trip.

"Grandma, you're going on another trip in two days?"

She patted Alicia's hand.

"Ally, Frederick is lucky to have met you! Thank you for everything you've done for him. I'll only accept you as my granddaughter-inlaw! If anything happens in the future, or if you have any difficulties, you've got to tell me. As long as I'm alive, you'll be the granddaughter- in- law of my family! If Frederick dares to offend you, I'll never forgive him!"

"Grandma, I know that you love me the most! Not only that, you treat me the best!"

Alicia had a feeling that Mrs. Clements knew something. So, she smiled and said, "Frederick has been great to me. He doesn't dare to bully me!"

Mrs. Clements then looked at Frederick.

"Don't think that I don't know about your mess! You ought to deal with it as soon as possible! And also, do not simply let anyone into your home!"

Frederick knew what his grandmother was talking about. He nodded solemnly, "Grandma, I know! We're going to have our wedding in October."

It was not until ten o'clock that the two of them got up and were ready to leave. Before heading home for the night, Mrs. Clements deliberately asked Miranda to take Alicia to the storeroom to see if there was anything she liked. She spoke seriously to Frederick.

"Frederick, you should be careful when you deal with outsiders in the future. Don't be too cruel. You should at least reserve some leeway for others! If you force others to a dead end, how can they leave you an alternative? You should pay more attention to your safety! With your current status, you should have more experience than me. Life is the same for everyone, regardless of status. Why do you think Alicia's so brave? Don't let her down! In your life, you will most likely never meet another person who is willing to

do such a thing for you! You should cherish her. You know, gold will always shine but don't take it for granted. If you let go of it, you might never know its true value. You only have one chance. Do you understand?"

"Grandma, don't worry! I will not do anything to upset Ally."

While they were talking, Alicia ran out with a big doll in her arms as she said, "Grandma, why do you have this in your home? I like it. Can I please have it?"
