Frederick narrowed his eyes, and his tone became a little colder as he asked, "Why? Do you care about him?"

Alicia suddenly realized that she made a mistake when his chauvinistic attitude appeared. She turned around, walked to his side and hugged him. Then, she gently stroked his chest..

"Of course not! If it was because of me, then I wouldn't want you to have anything to do with it! I don't want you to get hurt because of me! If you did not do it because of me, then I will turn a blind eye to it. It doesn't matter!" She said.

As they walked, Alicia rambled on about the Crouch family. Frederick listened to her rambling and gave her a faint smile.

They exited the supermarket with bags of groceries as they made their way home. They brought a few supplements before making their way over to the Lavender Garden.

There were a few dishes already on the table when they arrived at the house. Mrs. Blanchard specially made some buns.

"Frederick, these are all home-cooked. I'm not sure whether it suits your taste but please, help yourselves. Ally has been complaining about wanting to eat buns, so I made some for her! If there's anything you feel like eating, be sure to let me know beforehand so that I can prepare it for you!"

"Thank you, Mom! This is good enough!"

"Regarding your dad, the doctor suggested that he should lie down more instead of sitting up. He is afraid that it will affect his nervous system. Therefore, he isn't allowed to come downstairs! Why don't you guys go ahead and get started? I'm going to bring up some food for him! He has recently been eating a lot of buns. It's more convenient for him to eat while lying down!"

Mrs. Blanchard placed a couple of buns and some other food on a plate and made her way upstairs. Alicia scooped a generous serving of food as well as a piece of crab, and put it on Frederick's plate,

"Honey, you don't have to be so courteous. Just treat this as your own home! I want to eat some crab. Can I have the legs?"

Alicia asked coquettishly. Frederick smiled as he picked up the crab and said, "And here I thought the entire crab was for me! Don't be too greedy!"

"Hehe."

When Mrs. Blanchard came back, she saw Frederick deshelling the crab legs as well as removing the crab roe for Alicia. She immediately froze in her spot as tears started pooling in her eyes. She turned back and said a few words to Martin before finally leaving the room.

During dinner, Alicia kept on putting food on her mother's plate. The two of them kept talking about Lindsay. It was a warm and homely feeling. Frederick, who was sitting beside Alicia, watched and could feel the happiness in the atmosphere.

After dinner, Mrs. Blanchard found an excuse to pull Alicia aside and said,

"Ally, even though you are married, you must not be haughty because Frederick dotes on you. It's not easy to find such a good man! It would be best if you came over more often after work to have some soup. You have to take good care of yourself. You should think of having a baby soon..."

Alicia had had enough of her mother's nagging by the time they left the house. In the car, she was still a little discouraged.

"What's wrong? Did your mom scold you?"

She shook her head and said bitterly, "Mom blames you for spoiling me too much! As expected, my mother loves you more than she loves me! Frederick, I'm about to fall out of favor soon!"
