Alicia went back to the house after answering the call with glee on her face, and she even seemed a little shy.

"I told you, Mom! Now can you rest assured? Frederick wants to take me out, hence I won't be eating here tonight..."

She said her goodbyes, and her parents gave her some more advice before she went back home.

When she arrived, she took a shower. Considering that it was a work-related function, it would most probably be a very classy one. Therefore, she chose a rather formal-looking dress with an off-shoulder design, which showed off her sleek collarbones and made her look really elegant. Her outfit accentuated her womanly figure but it was not too flattering. The black and white lace material was just the right amount of formality and feminine.

After getting dressed, she applied some light makeup and put her hair into an up-do. Frederick came in while she was looking at herself in the mirror. Then, their gazes met and Alicia turned around to give him a curtsey.

"Mr. Clements..."

She giggled while looking at herself, "Hubby, do I look like your secretary like this?"

He laughed in response.

He couldn't help but be amused by her. Then, he reached out and pulled up her collar, "If Doris was half as gorgeous as you, I would be laughing in my dreams! It is all just right like this!"

He loved her low-key attitude! All of her passion and sexiness should be only for him to see!

Then, he then walked to the wardrobe and picked out a suit.

He said, "I'm going to meet a few friends to discuss something... But, I'm bringing you along to have some fun. I heard that tonight's event is in correlation to the hotel's anniversary celebration. Therefore, there might even be some special activities!"

After he got changed, he turned around to look at her, "Just have fun. However, don't stray too far away once we get there!"

Alicia was a bright, shining meteor, and she would always glow so brightly wherever she went.

"Alright, got it! I promise I won't leave your sight!" She held his hand and gave him an obedient look.

After he got her a thin cardigan, he walked out with her in his embrace.

The party was held at a high-class hotel, so it was not as noisy as the normal cocktail parties.

The event this time was slightly more low- key. When they went in, the hall was only filled with the classy, melodious sound of a piano playing.

The red carpet absorbed the clicking sound of the shoe heels. Frederick got Alicia a glass of juice and one for himself as well. They both then went to the buffet section while she was still in his arms.

"Don't hold back, just eat whatever you want! I wouldn't want to upset a foodie! If you know anyone you meet later, just go on and chat with them! Do let me know if you need to go out!"

She giggled and nodded. She glanced at him.

"Why did you bring a foodie over if you already knew beforehand? Aren't you afraid that I will embarrass you?"

As long as her weight and figure were still under control, she would seldom restrict her diet in front of him! Nothing was more important than eating!

"We are already getting married, can I even regret it now? That would be far too troublesome!"

As they were talking, a few men in suits came over and greeted them, "Mr. Clements, what a pleasure to meet you!"

"You're being too polite, Mr. Andrews. It's nice to see you too!"

They shook hands. Due to some of them being foreigners, they soon changed their language of speech.

Since he wanted to appreciate her beauty, he needed to have the ability to handle all sorts of trouble!

She smiled brightly as she hugged him tightly, "You make me feel like a princess. You are my knight in shining armor and my guardian angel!"

If only she had someone like him to rely on for the rest of her life, that would be incredibly blissful!

"It's my honor..."

After that, he looked up and saw some men in suits at the door. Frederick then turned around and said, "Let's go, they are here!"

This time, he tightened his hand around her waist, as if he was claiming her as his.

She didn't want to go over at first as she was afraid that what happened earlier would repeat itself. However, she couldn't refuse him, so she still got dragged over. This time during the introductions, Frederick introduced her as they shook hands with her, and she replied with a polite nod and smile.
