Danica tried to imply that Alicia was with him mainly for the riches.

Frederick understood what Danica was trying to say. When she reached out to hold his hand, he subconsciously moved away his hand by pretending to load his cigarette case.

"I'm not indecisive, Danica. I love her. I still do, even after all this."

Therefore, he couldn't and wouldn't let her go.

After giving her a reticent look, Frederick turned around and returned to the V.I.P. room, leaving behind a stupefied Danica who gritted her teeth in frustration.

After all this and he still could love her?

Meanwhile, roaming the streets, Alicia felt empty, as if her soul had been taken away from her.

After experiencing family crisis, heartbreak from Jeremy as well as heart-rending hardships over the years, Alicia understood that love is a luxury which she would be totally fine to not have it. Besides that, her pride and vulnerability wouldn't allow her to diminish her self-worth for the sake of love, or even beg for forgiveness.

But still, Frederick's eventual silence gave her a deep cut.

The thought of him leaving gave her a lump in her throat. She thought that if she no longer had feelings for him, then she wouldn't feel the pain from loving someone, but at that moment, she was in so much pain that she felt like dying from it.

After leaving Soaver International, she wandered aimlessly around the streets, without realizing how long had she been walking and where was she going. She just kept walking.

It was already dark by the time she came to her senses. The streets were lit with flashing neon lights and crowded with people, reflecting the vibrancy of a city's nightlife. She was brought back to reality by shuffling sound of footsteps.

Looking around curiously, she saw a group of people gathered in front of a giant board.

Without giving much thought, Alicia wanted to avoid the crowd to make her way out, but as she was about to head to the opposite side, she heard a surprised voice.

"Wow! It's Sebastian Forbes! He will be holding a concert in Casterwich City!"

"His songs are really good. He has a very deep voice that's sexy and exudes manliness!"

"Yes! He is so handsome and so magnetic, he's totally my prince charming! I grew up listening to his songs. I heard he holds concerts once in every two years. This will be the last world tour!"

"It could be. With so many emerging young talents nowadays, who would still listen to old music. It's been 20 years and yet he still produces new songs!"

"It should be pretty grand to be held at the stadium. Remind me to get tickets when they go on sale next week!"

Alicia paused her step and blinked. "Twenty years? Sebastian Forbes? Could it be him?"

Alicia turned back automatically and looked at the crowd. Her eyes landed on a wide advertisement board, which featured a promotional picture of a group. In the middle was a gentlemanly middle-aged man with glossy slicked back hair and dressed in a suit.

Sebastian Forbes? Her uncle? It was really him!

After writing down the address that was listed, Alicia decided to find a time to visit her personally during the day.

This unexpected news made Alicia feel much better. As she wandered the streets, she felt slightly hungry and had a bowl of noodles from a roadside eatery, before continuing with her aimless wandering so as to burn the calories.

As she was passing by the corner of a street, she was captivated by a translucent crystal palacelooking mini store. As she got closer, a strong fragrance wafted out of the store. With people going in and out of the busy store, she turned and walked into it.

The store was exquisitely designed. Its shelves displayed bottles, cans, purses, and sling bags, with the most being those colorful fragrances in nice-looking bottles which were also many-hued. Beautifully arranged fresh roses had also been used to decorate the store. In the middle of a round passageway was a perfume- making machine. Also, in different variations of colors, the perfume seemed customizable. However, the weird thing was that the items were not on full display. Many designs that were supposed to be in pairs and placed side- by- side had another object placed between them. While the store was unique, with the fragrance permeating the air and translucently bright lights shining across, which created a romantic ambiance, there was a sense of melancholy.

"Welcome to Lovely Scent. How may I help you? We can specially make for you...”

"A perfume that is exclusively yours!"

Alicia turned around to find a elegantly-dressed lanky middle-aged woman with greying hair. As their eyes met, they were both dumbfounded.

"You?"

"Auntie?"

The woman's eyes widened as soon as Alicia spoke. She asked, "Alicia?"

Nodding with a face of disbelief, Alicia thought: How did she end up here? And what made her look so old? She looked even older than her mother, who had aged so much over the past few years due to hard work.
