Clutching onto the notebook in her hands, Alicia burst into tears as she sobbed, "Aunt Freya, sob..."

"Why? Why would she punish herself for the mistakes others have made? Why would she end her life?" She thought. She whined as her heart ached even more. How strong was her hatred for her to leave them in such a decisive way?

Frederick held her tightly in his arms. Without saying a word, he bent down his head and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"Is this all real, Hubby? Did Aunt Freya really kill herself? I never thought that something wasn't right when she asked me to run some errands out of the blue, but now I see. No wonder she prepared a table full of food and had a heart-to-heart talk with me. I couldn't forget the push that she gave me when I tried to rescue her during the fire! Instead, she was running towards the fire! She didn't want to hurt me... And that's why she tried so hard to get me out of the house..."

"Oh, Aunt Freya... She's dead now. She killed herself just for a scumbag..." She wept miserably.

Alicia came to an absolute point of breaking down as she cried her eyes out in grief. In the end, she sobbed herself to sleep in Frederick's arms.

That very night was a toss-and-turn sort of night for her, strangled by endless nightmares. She groaned and whined, heartbroken, from time to time throughout her sleep. In her dreams, there was fighting and screaming, as though a drowning person was struggling in torment and pain.

At the crack of dawn, Frederick was again awakened by the swing of a hand. Her aggravated frown caught his gaze at the very moment he opened his foggy eyes. She wrapped herself up like a shrimp, stiffly struggling, as if she was making every effort to break the cage that she'd been bound by.

He nestled her in his arms from the side, just like wheedling an insecure baby to peace. Gently, he patted her at the side of her back to ease her pain. Bit-by-bit, her struggling was gradually soothed.

A gentle smile then appeared at the corner of his lips as Frederick fiddled with a strand of her hair by the ear. The gaze in his eyes appeared to get stagnant, seemingly being captivated by a powerful source of magnetic energy.

As Alicia looked up at him, what she saw was something that set her mind at ease. Below the long, archly curved lashes blinked a pair of dazzling half-squinted eyes. She wrapped her fair smooth arms around his neck as she threw herself onto his chest, speaking in a shy and bashful tone,

"Good morning, Hubby."

The atmosphere in the room bloomed into a storm of erotic intimacy with a romantically passionate kiss dropping at the very moment.

The scene moved to the Clements family home, where Mrs. Clements just came back from her usual morning stroll. She saw that Paula and the butler were whispering at the end of the corridor. Levi, the butler, was anxiously rubbing his hands, speaking with an obvious sense of hesitation,

"Do we have to inform Mrs. Clements about this? At such a time so early in the morning?"

"And what were you up to last night? Haven't you noticed anything fishy, especially when Master Frederick has already stayed in the hotel for days!" Paula exclaimed as she rolled her eyes at Levi grudgingly.

He should have said so last night. How were they supposed to catch them red-handed so early in the morning?

"Although you asked me to keep an eye on Master Frederick, you didn't mention it to be done intentionally, did you? I don't think that woman will be at the hotel everyday. Even if she went there, that doesn't mean that she will be staying overnight too! What if they left way before we got there? Plus, it was ten last night when I received the call. Mrs. Clements was already asleep in bed. Was I supposed to wake the poor lady up and head to the hotel to catch them in bed?"

It was Master Frederick who paid for his salary! Even though he did specifically instruct them to obey Mrs. Clements' orders as long as she doesn't get upset.
