Frederick had never seen her like that before. He felt that she was nitpicking! However, she was so at ease whenever he didn't approach her. Feeling something faintly, Alicia subconsciously raised her head, only to see a tall figure disappear at the door. In an instant, her eyes were shaded with a thin layer of mist, but then she lowered her head and turned a page.

After some time, a maid ran up to her excitedly and said, "Miss Blanchard! Miss Blanchard! Mr. Nick is here to see you!"

"My brother is here?"

Alicia threw away the book in her hand and jumped off the bed.

"Miss Blanchard, please slow down. Be careful not to fall! As soon as Mr. Nick got off the car, I came up-"

Alicia smiled back happily, put on her slippers, and ran out in a hurry. On the stairs, she saw the familiar figure and suddenly felt warmth emitting her heart.

She called out, before stomping down the stairs hurriedly.

Nicholas turned around. He went up to her and said, "Don't run, slow down!"

After a few steps, Alicia jumped at Nicholas, who had already stretched out his hands, catching her. "How old are you? Why do you still act like a child? Aren't you afraid of falling?"

Nicholas gave her a tight hug while caressing her hair lovingly. He helped her steady herself before releasing his grip.

At that moment, Frederick was watching them from the entrance of the stairs. With a heavy heart, he began descending the stairs.

"Nicholas, what brings you here? Did something happen?"

Looking at her smiling, Nicholas poked her head and said, "Everything's fine! I just dropped by to see you!"

Wasn't it because she was too headstrong that Frederick had begged him to come?

Wasn't he the busiest at night? Why would he have the time to drop by?

Alicia started having doubts, but before she could say anything, Frederick interjected, "Nicholas, you're here!"

As their eyes met, Nicholas nodded his head. However, before he could say a word, Alicia held his arm and snorted with anger.

"Nicholas, let's sit over there! Have you eaten yet? Are you hungry? You must be thirsty! I'll make you some tea and bring you some fruits. Sit, sit-"

After pushing Nicholas to sit down, Alicia turned and went to the kitchen. Shortly after, she brought out some fruits and dried fruits. She also got him a cup of flower tea.

At that moment, he started doubting whether Frederick had really done something wrong and upset his sister!

He patted Alicia's back comfortingly and said, "Did he do something terrible to you which broke your heart? I will beat him up for you!"

After getting up, Nicholas began unbuttoning his suit.

There were still tears at the corners of Alicia's eyes. Seeing that he wasn't joking, she grabbed his arm.

"Nicholas, it's fine. Don't do that! He just went to see his old flame. He didn't actually do anything...

His movement came to a sudden halt. He looked at her knitted brows and her hitting herself on the chest. It was obvious that she was annoyed, which meant she was still somewhat rational. Nicholas suddenly understood that the situation was as Frederick had described!

He rolled his eyes at him and then gently wiped off the tears at the corner of Alicia's eyes.

"If you're upset, just scold or beat him. You don't have to hold back! He deserves it, as it was thoughtless of him. You don't have to blame yourself! With me backing you up, there's no need to be afraid of anyone! Ally, are... you not feeling well?"
