While muttering, Victoria's cheeks flushed.

At the start, she had to admit that he was part of the reason. She could not accept any other man.

Seeing that she was like a child desperately in denial of things, Trevor raised his hand and pinched her small face.

He then said in the most gentle voice, "You're my wife. No matter what happens, you're mine for the rest of your life. You're not allowed to act foolishly ever again!"

Victoria was overwhelmed with joy. A big smile plastered on her face, and she did not say anything. She had no idea that she was the only woman Trevor called his.

Trevor lowered his head and leaned in for a kiss. Right before their lips touched, Victoria suddenly raised her hand to cover her mouth, and then quickly hopped down from his lap.

"I'm going to wash up."

She ran towards the bathroom in a hurry. She even turned around to cast him a glance before entering.

Trevor stood up with a grin on his face.

Suddenly, a vibration of a phone was heard. He took a look at it, and his smile stiffened.

He held the phone tightly, letting the characters jump back and forth. In the end, he didn't pick up.

He subconsciously switched his phone to silent mode.

In a blink of an eye, the phone lit up once again. He couldn't help but be stunned. How many times had she called? What was going on? In the past, if he didn't answer the call, it would mean that it was inconvenient for him. She would never dial for him thrice!

As he pondered, he felt a slight force from his back, along with a sweet voice. "Hubby."

Trevor immediately declined the call and shoved it into his pocket.

When he turned around, there was no trace of emotion on his face. He gently stroked the hair on her temples. "You have not fully recovered. Go to bed soon."

"Okay!"

After nodding, Victoria rubbed herself against him. "Can you also sleep early tonight? I won't have nightmares if you hold me!"

As if he thought of something, Trevor lowered his voice and said gently, "Okay, wait for me in bed!"

Overjoyed, Victoria climbed into bed, obediently tucked herself in, and waved at him. Trevor then turned around and went into the bathroom.

After taking a shower, he went straight to bed and held Victoria in his arms.

Victoria leaned against him quietly. His familiar scent surrounded her, making her feel like she was protected and looked after by an angel. And just like that, she calmed down. After nesting herself in a comfortable position, she stopped moving.

It was a beautiful night filled with quiet and serenity. Even though no words were exchanged between them, they were enjoying each other's company. In a short while, Victoria's eyelids began to feel heavy.

She poked him gently as she unconsciously whispered, "I always thought that I could do anything, and that I didn't lack anything. I thought I could live a good life on my own!
