Her things were usually arranged neatly. Although she did not always put them back in the same place every time, she never had trouble finding them again. She had a certain order to her arrangement.

But this time, even after looking all over the place, she still couldn't find it no matter how hard she tried!

Little did she know, Frederick was almost scared out of his wits as he observed her frowning expression.

He stepped forward and hugged her tightly from behind. "If you can't find it, then don't look for it anymore!"

Frederick's breath trembled as he held her in his arms. Was Danica's drug really that effective?"

"Hmm? No! I've been thinking of using it the day after tomorrow!"

She turned around, gave him a push, and pouted in displeasure. "Help me to remember!" What was the use of hugging her? He was more of a hindrance than a help!

As she paced back and forth, for a moment, Alicia racked her brains and swept her gaze around the room. Yet she did not notice that Frederick's expression was filled with anxiety.

When he was about to open his mouth, Alicia suddenly shouted, "Oh, I'm so dumb! Two days ago, I did laundry! I must have left it in the washing machine! I'll go check over there."

She excitedly pushed Frederick away and ran to look. A short moment later, she came out with a half-dry cloth doll.

"As I thought, it was where I left it. It just needs to dry!"

She waved it at Frederick, then ran to the balcony to hang and dry the doll.

Frederick's heart was beating faster and faster as he stared at her...

Alicia was busy for the whole evening. She then changed her clothes and took a shower. Seeing her still sorting out documents, he stepped forward and hugged her.

"Let the maids do it! It's already so late, don't stress yourself out!"

Alicia nodded and looked back at him. She smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm almost done!"

After she finished arranging the documents, she turned to face him. she felt so tired that she yawned as she stretched her arms out.

"Hubby, you don't have to work overtime today, right? Let's rest earlier!"

She had been too busy lately. Once she stopped working, she felt sleepy and tired instantly!

"That's a good idea!"

It was rare for her to relax in bed with him. As soon as the light went off, Alicia pounced on him. She squirmed until she found a comfortable position and said softly.

"Good night, hubby!"

Hearing the tiredness in her voice, Frederick attributed it to another side effect of the drug. Instinctively, he did not want her to fall asleep.

He stroked her hair gently as hurt and sorrow flashed across his eyes. How could such a perfect woman end up like this? Why was she so unlucky to have met me? Where is justice?

He lowered his head and planted a kiss on her forehead. Frederick said in a low voice, "Ally, do you still remember the first time we met?"

If she would eventually forget their love story one day, he would remind her daily.

"No matter what! No matter what method or what price I have to pay. I will definitely not let anything happen to you! I promise!"

That weekend, as scheduled, Frederick cleared his schedule to bring Alicia back to Bayton City.

Standing on the familiar land, and looking at the familiar yet foreign street, Alicia couldn't help but sigh.

"It's been five years. In just a blink of an eye, the place I grew up in has changed so much. Time sure flies! Soon, we'll all be old!"

The place was full of memories of her carefree childhood. She was already a grown woman, and perhaps would be a mother soon. The place that had carried countless dreams and memories had changed so much.

Leaning against Frederick, Alicia held on tight to his clothes. Everything happened for the best. While things have changed, meeting him was the best thing that happened. Meeting him was enough to make up for everything!

"Not yet! We're just growing up!"

Looking out at the scenery, Frederick held her tiny hand in his.

"No matter how this city changes, I believe that your love for it will stay the same! You won't like it more because of how prosperous it becomes, nor dislike it because of its retrogress!"

That was her hometown!

Looking at each other, Alicia smiled and nodded. Indeed, even though this place left scars on her heart, it still held her precious memories.

"Let's go. Let me take you to the place where we used to live! Hubby, don't look down on me. I used to be a famous beautiful lady in Bayton City! I was even considered a little princess! Actually, we were once well-matched back in the day!"

At most, it was "putting the cart before the horse". The first half of her life barely matched his present state. Yet, the future remained unknown!
