Holding his hand tightly, Alicia smiled through her tears.

Soon, Mrs. Andrews came back with some groceries and Mrs. Blanchard asked Aunt McGowan to help with cooking. That day, they finally had their reunion dinner as a family. It was a pleasant experience at the dining table. Frederick drank some red wine with Mr. Blanchard, while Alicia and her mother chatted the whole night. Often they were so excited they almost choked with laughter.

After dinner, her mom dragged her to her room. Hugging a plate full of snacks in her arms, and eating happily, Alicia's eyes became red when she saw her mom making the bed. After it was made, she immediately sat on it and said in a sweet tone,

"It's so soft, mom. Let me sleep together with you tonight. Let's have a good talk!"

Rolling her eyes at Alicia, Mrs. Blanchard folded down a corner of the quilt. She then sat down beside her, and said, "Don't talk nonsense!"
