RYAN
My heart was instantly at peace by the news.
All my reasons for being in New York were forgotten, and I knew I had to go back home to my family. I need to see my kids.
Turning to the officer next to me, I pointed at the glass. "Can I go inside there?"
He nodded. "We can make an exception for you." He spoke into the mic wired on his shirt and the other detective in the interrogating room glanced at the glass partition and nodded. He gestured for me to go in.
"Thank you." Making my way to the door, I opened it and stepped in, my hand buried into my pocket. "that offer is off the table." I rasped.
The detective frowned at my words. "I won't be able to help you Mr. Williams if you keep interrupting with my job."
"My sons have been found." I revealed and my eyes widened. "and the men who helped with the kidnap too." Pulling out the other chair, I sat down, my hands still buried in my pocket. "Of course, Clover is going to be on the run."
Maya cleared her throat. "Congratulations on finding your sons, but this has nothing to do with me. I don't know why you think it is okay to share that information with me."
Tilting my head, I watched her, wondering if she was really stupid or low in comprehension. "A man, who is paying your rent is about to be arrested for abduction and attempted murder, which will be added to his murder charges, and you think you aren't going to be affected by this?"
She shrugged. "Not when it has nothing to do with me." She insisted.
Nodding, I turned to the detective. "Is this thing working?"
He blinked slightly confused for a few seconds before catching on. "No, it was turned off a while ago."
Pinching the bridge of my nose, I turned to Maya. "Then I guess I can say the words I really want to say to you."
She passed a glance at the detective, then back at me. "is this still an arrest?"
I shrugged. "It was more of an attempt to find my sons, but now they are found, I don't need to keep you talking."
Her eyes narrowed. "Is that cufflink stuff real or just some makeup story to make me panic?"
