The two quickly walked into the study, but just as they got close, a noise came from outside.

"It's Jennifer!" Charlene said in a panic.

"Ignore her," Daniel uttered indifferently.

However, Charlene shook her head firmly and tidied her nightgown before hurriedly switching her laptop on.

On the other hand, Daniel was relentless, leaving Charlene no choice but to half-squat by the desk.

Jennifer pushed open the study door and was surprised to see Charlene working. "Charlene, you're still working?"

Daniel stayed out of Jennifer's sight as he positioned himself behind the curtains, taking full advantage of the angle.

Jennifer was aware of his relationship with Charlene, and while he didn't care, Charlene did. Hence, he couldn't expose himself.

"Yeah! The company has been insanely busy lately! I told you about the youth cream. Ah!"

Charlene hadn't expected Daniel to be so bold. Her face flushed instantly.

Fortunately, the study lights were off, and the reflection from the laptop screen wasn't enough to reveal her expression.

"What's wrong? Did you bump into something?" A hint of suspicion flashed in Jennifer's eyes.

"Nothing! It's nothing!" Charlene stretched lazily, trying to appear natural.

"The factory had some minor issues just now. And I didn't want to disturb you, so I came here to work. Why are you up?"

"I couldn't sleep." Jennifer's face darkened slightly as her thoughts were diverted.

"Charlene, do you think Daniel has really recovered? Or has something possessed him?"

Charlene couldn't help but chuckle at that. "That's impossible! Jennifer, you're overthinking."

"Why is it impossible?" Jennifer shook her head vigorously, reacting intensely.

"Never mind, I won't drink. I haven't been feeling well. Charlene, thank you for opening my eyes."

"I didn't say anything," Charlene thought.

Jennifer had convinced herself. Maybe it was the shift in her mindset, but she suddenly got sleepy. "I have to sleep now. I need a good night's sleep."

"Ah, o-okay!" Charlene's voice came out a little distorted.

But Jennifer didn't notice as she made her way upstairs, completely exhausted.

Once Jennifer left, Charlene turned around and punched Daniel in the chest. "What are you doing?"

Daniel just grinned.

Then, the study was filled with warmth and passion.
