Her manager quickly chased after her.

But Whitney didn't even look back. Without a second thought, she left her assistant behind, hailed a cab, and took off with her manager.

"I feel like I've seen you before," Daniel said while staring at the assistant.

"You must be mistaken," she replied in that unmistakably unique voice of hers.

Daniel's eyes widened in shock. "Wait… You… You're Mikayla? Mikayla York?"

Mikayla immediately turned her head away. "No, I'm not!"

Her reaction only confirmed Daniel's suspicions.

"Looks like you don't have anywhere to go right now. How about this? I'll take you to the company," he suggested.

"No!" Mikayla instinctively refused. But then, she realized that in Whitney's rush to leave, she hadn't even given her an address. What else could she do?

"...Fine," she finally agreed, resigned to her situation.

"Sir, you've got the wrong person," she said. Instinctively trying to run, trying to escape her past.

But Daniel just smiled. "What if I told you I can restore your face?"

Mikayla froze in place. Her body trembled as she turned her head slightly toward Daniel, her eyes filled with disbelief.

"W-What did you just say?" Her voice was shaking.

"I said, I can restore your face. Now, are you finally willing to admit you're Mikayla York?" Daniel grinned at her.

Charlene's eyes went wide. "Wait! The legendary singer—Mikayla York? No way! Daniel, don't mess with me! Didn't she retire ages ago?"

Mikayla looked at Daniel, her gaze filled with mixed emotions.
