Konner swallowed hard. "Oh dear, I've put my foot in my mouth. Please, let's just pretend I was never here today!"

Then, he turned and left without hesitation.

Zidane's once-radiant smile froze in place before his brows furrowed. He hadn't expected Konner to retreat in the blink of an eye!

"Looks like I underestimated you. You can have it for now since things turned out this way," Zidane said. He didn't seem too bothered; this was just a small test, and there was no point in turning it into a full-blown conflict.

But Jennifer was visibly displeased. She could only huff in frustration since Zidane had backed down. Walking over to Daniel, she shouted, "This isn't over!"

Then, she angrily got into the car and slammed the door shut.

Zidane glanced at her before turning back to Daniel with a smile. "Looks like you don't understand women."

Daniel shot him an indifferent look. "That's none of your concern."

Zidane shrugged and turned to Charlene. "Charlene, the meeting's at Qranross Hotel tomorrow. Don't be late!"

Without waiting for her response, he got into his car and left.

Daniel narrowed his eyes as he watched the convoy disappear. Zidane wasn't as simple as he seemed, especially his peculiar eyes.

As for Jennifer, that crazy woman probably had no idea what kind of mess she'd gotten herself into. She foolishly thought Zidane was her tool in dealing with Daniel, and that was utterly naive.

"Um… Do you two still want to sign the lease?" The real estate agent, who'd been standing by, finally spoke up after the others had left.

Charlene smiled. "Of course we do!"

"Why did you back down today!" Jennifer angrily asked.

Zidane slowly took out a cigarette, lit it, and leaned back on the couch. "Some things can't be rushed. I won't go back on my word since I've agreed to work with you."

"You'd better deliver on your promises. If you can take care of Daniel, I'll get you what you want," Jennifer promised as she took a deep breath.

Zidane's eyes lit up, and his smile deepened. "Now that's what I'd like to hear! I look forward to a successful partnership."

"Handle Daniel, and we'll talk," Jennifer said before turning and walking out.

Zidane narrowed his eyes as he watched her leave and fell lost in thought.
