Zidane covered his face and quickly mumbled, "I believe it!"

The two slaps he had received were completely undeserved.

But Jennifer wasn't about to let it go. "No! We can't just let this slide!"

Zidane grabbed her arm. "That's enough for today! Daniel, we'll settle this another time."

He was genuinely in pain. He didn't dare let the idiot Jennifer continue to provoke Daniel.

Daniel gave them a cold look. "Hold up. Did I say you could leave?"

Zidane tensed up as he turned back around to face Daniel. "Mr. Ashcroft, need I remind you what situation you are in right now? If you push me too far, it won't end well for any of us."

"Is that so? Well, I'd really like to see what you can do," Daniel said with a scoff. "Cut off one of your hands, and I'll let you go. Otherwise, you're not going anywhere!"

Daniel's words were absolute.

Zidane's forehead was instantly drenched in cold sweat. He had gotten a little too carried away just now and had forgotten that Daniel wasn't just president of a company—he was also an incredibly powerful cultivator. And he had no right to act so arrogantly toward a cultivator.

"Mr. Ashcroft, please! I admit I'm in the wrong this time. I promise I'll never appear in front of you again!" Zidane said with a placating smile.

Jeniffer snorted. "Oh, stop being a pussy. I don't believe he'd actually go through with his threat in broad daylight."

Zidane finally snapped. With bloodshot eyes, he grabbed Jennifer by the shoulders and hissed through gritted teeth, "Shut up, you idiot! If I die, I'm bringing you down with me!"

Frightened, Jennifer immediately shut her mouth.

"Well then, I have other matters to attend to, so I'll leave this to you," Daniel said, patting Joshua on the shoulder.

Joshua looked at Zidane calmly. Then, he pulled out a blade from his waist and tossed it to the ground in front of Zidane.

"Ah!" Zidane cried out in pain.

With a light tap of the tip of his shoes, Joshua sent the falling longsword bouncing back into his hand. Then, with a swift motion, the blade came down.

"No!" Zidane screamed.

But it was already too late. Clutching the stump where his hand used to be, he let out a bloodcurdling scream.

He knew he had no time to waste, so he quickly grabbed his severed hand and bolted.

Jennifer stood frozen, as if petrified by fear. She never expected Daniel to actually go through with it. Memories of terror came rushing back. Then, with a sharp scream, she turned and ran.

Joshua casually dusted off his hands, his expression as calm as ever. It was almost as if none of this had anything to do with him.
