While Daniel was still dealing with the mess Jennifer had left behind, he received a call from Conor.

"Mr. Ashcroft, something has happened!" Conor said in a voice filled with urgency.

"Let's talk about it when I get back," Daniel replied calmly. After giving Charlene a quick explanation, he got up and left.

Jennifer heaved a sigh of relief.

Charlene sighed and shook her head. "Why do you two have to be like this?"

"I refuse to accept this outcome!" Jennifer muttered, then began cleaning up the table in front of her.

Charlene could only sigh helplessly at how stubborn she was being.

On his way back, Daniel was cut off by another car. He frowned, his expression turning cold as he pushed open the door. But when he saw who it was, he felt a little awkward.

Amelia stood with her head down, the two of them facing each other in silence.

"About what happened that day—" They spoke almost simultaneously.

Amelia finally couldn't hold back anymore and said, "Mr. Ashcroft, I came here today to tell you what had happened that day was a misunderstanding. Yes, just a misunderstanding!"

After saying this, she turned around and walked back to her car.

Daniel raised his hand. "Ms. Quinn, wait—"

Amelia's ears turned visibly red when she heard him calling out to her. But she didn't turn back. Instead, she got into her car and sped away.

Daniel couldn't help but smirk as he watched Amelia's car swerve awkwardly.

That night, Amelia was definitely caught in the crossfire. In the past few days, Daniel hadn't heard anything from her, so naturally, he couldn't just show up uninvited.

"Dad, just stay out of this!" Amelia said with a huff.

"I'm doing this for your own good!" Wesley was fuming, scratching his head in frustration as he looked at his stubborn daughter.

If Amelia weren't his daughter, he would have taught her a lesson for giving him attitude.

Amelia snorted. "You're doing this for my own good? What about the thing with Claudine Weiss? Have you settled that? And Kerry Leon has been looking for you for ages. Have you even met with her yet?"

Amelia knew all about her father's romantic affairs.

"That's completely different!" Wesley thundered, glaring at her and huffing in frustration.

"Just stay out of this!" Amelia waved her hand dismissively.

"Amelia, be honest with me. If you really like Daniel that much, I'll go seize him now and force him to marry you. How about that?" Wesley said with a grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
