Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Betrayed, But Not Defeated. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 89. Let's read the author's Betrayed, But Not Defeated Internet story right here.
Daniel flashed a smile at Frederick.
The man had come to Charlene under the guise of business, but it was clear what his real intent was. There was no need to say it aloud.
Yet Daniel couldn't help but wonder who was behind Frederick. Was it the Keaton family, or perhaps Omari? Or was it some other group still holding onto hopes of taking down Ashcroft Group?
Things were starting to look more and more interesting!
At first, Daniel's goal had been revenge. But now, it seemed the situation was far more complicated than he had anticipated.
But that was fine. One could only reel a fish in with bait in the water.
If these people were going to keep playing their games, Daniel was more than willing to indulge them.
"Mr. Newman, you've got to help me! This man dared to destroy bank property. Call the police and have him arrested!" Caleb immediately ran to Hayden, desperate for support.
Hayden glanced at the broken soundproof door and the burly men on the floor moaning in pain. His lips twitched in slight disbelief.
This was more than just property damage.
Then he saw Frederick. Without thinking, he rubbed his eyes. "M-Mr. Quinton?"
Hayden quickly rushed forward, trying to shove Daniel aside. "Hey, what are you doing? Get your foot off him!"
But Daniel merely shot him a cold look. "Mr. Newman, are you sure about this?"
"Daniel? No, Mr. Ashcroft!" Hayden had attended the banquet, so he recognized Daniel. "What is all this? We can resolve things calmly, can't we?"
Good God! This was serious!
Hayden was completely stunned. Yes, Ashcroft Group had fallen from grace due to the accident. But that didn't mean the bank could afford to offend them! After all, who in their right mind would fall out with their financial backer?
"Mr. Lewis, you'd better give me a perfect explanation!" Hayden snarled, his rage barely contained. He could barely hold back from strangling the man.
Caleb's face turned ashen. "I... I just heard that Mr. Quinton was willing to deposit funds into the bank, so I thought I'd help him out a little..."
Caleb's explanation was pitiful, but it only seemed to infuriate Hayden more. "You've committed a crime! What are you standing there for? Get him under control! And pull up the security footage, we need to preserve the evidence!"
Hayden knew exactly what had to be done and quickly gave the order to have Caleb detained.
"Mr. Ashcroft, Ms. Geller, Mr. Quinton, why don't we discuss this somewhere else?" Hayden said, then glanced toward his assistant. "Go and have the loan department fast-track Ms. Geller's loan. It'll be approved and disbursed immediately!"
