Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Betrayed, But Not Defeated. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 96. Let's read the author's Betrayed, But Not Defeated Internet story right here.
Bobby suddenly changed his tone. "I must apologize; someone else has already reserved this room. Ms. Geller, if you would just..."
At his words, the previously lively room fell into an immediate silence.
Charlene furrowed her brows. "Mr. Orr, what did you say?"
"I'm truly sorry, Ms. Geller. This was my mistake, and I take full responsibility! Let me drink three glasses to make amends. Please don't hold it against me!" he said, picking up a glass of wine from the waiter's tray and drinking it himself.
He hadn't come to offer a toast but prepared the drinks himself.
Charlene's expression turned cold as she turned her body, her gaze turning sharp. "Mr. Orr, this is not how things should be done! Since you've already given me the room and I have paid, I will finish my meal here!"
She wasn't foolish. Seeing Bobby's actions, she quickly deduced that someone must be pulling strings behind the scenes.
To make matters worse, he chose the most inopportune time to create trouble. Anyone in her position would be angry!
Bobby's expression changed slightly upon hearing this. "Ms. Geller, it truly was my mistake. How about this? I'll compensate you for double the price. How does that sound?"
She placed her handbag on the table. "Mr. Orr, are you saying I can't afford the meal? I'm not backing down today!"
Bobby furrowed his brows at her attitude, and his previous obsequious smile vanished.
"Ms. Geller, why make things harder than necessary?" He sneered.
"You're bullying us, and now you're blaming us?" Scarlet, enraged, stood up.
Without warning, he slapped her across the face.
She was caught off guard by the strike.
"What are you doing!" Charlene slammed the table and stood up.
"Open your eyes and take a good look. Are you sure you want to talk to me like that?" He pressed the man's head against the door.
The others quickly noticed the black card in Daniel's hand.
It was the black card of Obsidian Group.
This sight made the previously aggressive men gasp sharply.
"Sir, it's a misunderstanding!" The burly man immediately apologized and, without hesitation, bypassed Bobby to contact the hotel's general manager.
In less than three minutes, Mike Hodges, out of breath, arrived at the scene.
"Sir, I assure you, this was all a misunderstanding!" Mike, a rotund man, huffed as he approached but didn't dare show any disrespect.
Daniel gave him a cold look, picking up his phone. "Alden, when did eating at Fortune Heights Hotel require bodyguards for protection?"
