Luca’s POV
I stepped out of the car as soon as the door got pulled open for me, by my driver. We just arrived at the company and James was supposed to have been here already. I turned around a little and stopped James car packed in a spot which was two cars away from where my car was currently parked.
I turned around until I was facing my driver once again, and I placed my hand on his shoulder and pulled him closer, not missing the way his eyes widened a little in shock.
“You all can go to wherever you want to for now, just don’t go do something that’s going to take too much time and would be hard for you to leave whenever you see my call, and also keep your phone around you.” I paused and watched as his eyes widened even more in what I’d classify as nothing but shock, and I continued after a few moments.
“Even if I am going to be leaving the office later in the day to go to any kind of meeting, it wouldn’t be anytime soon, so you all can go do you thing. If you don’t receive any kind of call from me throughout the day, requesting for your presence and service, then don’t expect me to call you to come over stouts the time when I usually leave the office, understand?”
I watched as he started to nod his head immediately in reply, and i tugged my hand away from his shoulder and stared at him for a moment more, before turning around and starting to walk towards the entrance which was leading into the first floor of the company, the fooor where the receptionists were on, along with some other small offices, and the elevators.
“Er, boss?”
I turned my head around after pausing on hearing my driver’s stuttering words.
“What time would you be leaving for home? Early or late?”
“I think early, I’d be leaving early.”
******
I made my way directly into my office, nodding at my secretaries who had all stood up in respect as soon as I had made my way into their office, which I had to walk through, before I could get to mine. I pulled my door open and got in, before shutting it quietly behind me,
I made my way towards my chair and sank into it, rising back to my feet almost immediately, as soon as I remembered that I hadn't taken off my suit jacket. Once I’ve taken it off and hung it over the back of my chair, I sat back down and puffed out a sharp and deep breath.
Let’s get to work then!
I started sorting through the long pile of files which were arranged on my desks, and a quick glance around the right part of the office showed that there was also another pile of files which I was supposed to sort through, stamp and place my signature into.
I let out a low groan from the lowest part of my throat, how was I going to finish all these… and when? This was one of the reasons why sometimes, I just sit and start to wonder why I just can’t be able to teach one of my secretaries about how they could be able to draw my signature the exact way I do mine, so it wouldn’t have to be only me who’d have to sort out through these stuff, pick out the ones which I deemed unfit, and then finally approve of the ones which were good enough.
The only person whom I saw fit to even sort out those things was James, my best friend, but then he couldn’t put in his signature in my place, it had to be mine. So even if he ends up doing it, all he’s going to be able to do, is to sort them out and put in the company’s stamp, and I’d still have to end up putting the finishing touches to everything… and the finishing touches was my signature.
I let out a small sigh as I started to sort out the pile of things on my table, taking out the bad ones in my opinion, and laying the good ones in a different spot on the table. It was a good thing that I had taken a cup of coffee this morning back at home, before I had left for work, if not, I had no idea of how I’d have been able to get to work immediately after my arrival to the office.
I’d have gotten James to come help me out if it was a normal day, but I had been leaving so much work on James’ shoulders of late and I didn’t like how it was somehow unfair to him. I had fallen sick and he had taken over without any problem, and I had a feeling that his work which he was currently handling was just as much as mine, if not more.
