Luca’s POV
“Man, what was that comeback which Sofia made at me last night? I totally didn’t see that coming.” James breathed out after a few moments and I glanced up at him and placed my pen on the desk before leaning backwards against my chair, and I breathed out a snort after a few seconds.
“I mean, I had been expecting her to be a little bit shy about saying something like that, I didn’t expect her to just come at me like that.” James continued and I felt my eyes roll into the back of my head in the next second.
“She didn’t come at you, she literally just gave you your size, that’s all.” I started to say just as James started to shake his head.
“I mean, that doesn’t happen to me a lot, I got dumbstruck for a moment back then.” He continued to speak and I nodded my head in the next second, agreeing with him instantly as I started to speak.
“It was for more than a moment though, and you’re right, it doesn’t happen to you, which was honestly what made it all better.” I breathed out around a small laugh as I lifted my finger and started to card my fingers through the curls.
“Don’t get me wrong, I was impressed, a lot impressed, because I didn’t expect that at all. I mean, you did warm me before the whole dinner thing that you’d like it if I don’t end up being all over her and asking too much questions which could overwhelm her, which was automatically why I had just assumed that she’d be one shy and you know, someone that doesn’t talk a lot… coupled with the fact that you do tell me about her a lot, and about how emotional she sometimes get.”
I snorted a little as I leaned forward and placed my elbow on the table and started to speak. “Well. To be fair, I didn’t see that coming as well, it had just surprised you the way it surprised me to be honest, and it was hot though, I loved how she put you in your place that way.” I continued to speak as I smiled a little, as the said scene started to slowly play out in my head almost a moment later.
“Well, I’d like to hang out with her once again, she looked so fun, too bad I didn’t get enough chances to talk because of her big mouthed friend.” He breathed and I snorted at that.
“No, you can’t hang out with her again.” I pointed out and he rolled his eyes like he already knew what I was going to say, which was a really good thing because there was no way in hell that I was going to allow that to happen.
“You said Kayla was big mouthed?”
“Oh, that.” I breathed out as I carded my fingers through my hair in the next second. James rolled his eyes at me after that before laughing a little. “You really are a shameless bastard, having no kind of self control on yourself.” He continued and I started to wonder how Sofia would feel if she knew about the fact that James knew about this.
Not that I was going to ever tell her – because I didn’t want her to ever start acting weird around him or feeling unnecessarily mortified, because that was pretty mild compared to other things that James and I usually do when I was still single, and I was sure James wasn’t going to act in any kind of way around her whenever they’d meet once again.
“I feel like there’s something that’s supposed to happen today that I forgot to schedule.” James started to say after a few moments and I glanced up at him from the files I had been working on for over a few minutes this time.
“You think?” I asked and he gave a nod of his head before starting to speak. “Yeah, I feel so. And each time I feel that way, it always ends up being true at the end of the day, but by then, the schedule would have already been a long time passed.” He echoed out and started to tap away on his phone, his face losing all trace of jokes and currently having a look of seriousness on it.
“Well, don’t fret it. It can’t be that important.” I said to him as I made to return to what it was that I had been doing before. James mumbled something I didn’t fully get as he pushed himself out of the seat and started to make his way out of the office, which I was a little bit glad about, because I was going to finally be able to get something else done today.
