Luca’s POV

“Then I guess your supposed acquaintance is fully loaded.” I murmured as I turned around to start to move towards the house, and James fell into step beside me instantly.

“Of course she is, she’s fully loaded and loves to spend money on cute boys like me.” He responded and I turned my head around to glance at him for a few seconds before letting out a snort.

“Are you a boy?” I asked and watched as he narrowed his eyes at me almost immediately.

“Of course I am.” He responded and I breathed out a scoff as I started to shake my head.

“Bro, you’re not a boy? You’re a freaking man.” I informed him and watched as he rolled his eyes.

“Yeah, well jokes on you because I’m a freaking boy at heart.” He pointed out to me and I breathed out a small chuckle but decided to drop that subject because after all, it wasn’t like I was going to be able to change his mind if I even wanted to, and also because we were supposed to be discussing someone else tonight and not this particular thing.

I waited for him to walk past me into the house before selling into steps behind him and pushing the doors close, then proceeding to lock it with the keys.

“So,” James started to speak as he was taking his shoes off, with me leaning against the wall and waiting on him. I glanced down at him to see him staring up at me before he continued to speak. “Where’s your wife?”

I scowled at him almost immediately. “What’s it with her?” I demanded as I narrowed my gaze at him.

“Nothing man, geez. Would you chill? I just innocently asked about her.” He started to say as he rose to his feet and I scoffed a little as I pushed off the wall and started to walk past him.

“I didn’t even say a damn thing and you’re asking me to chill.” I threw at him from over my shoulder after a couple of seconds.

“Yes, you didn’t say a thing with your mouth, that’s probably what you meant – but then when it comes to your eyes? And your whole face? It felt like you were ready to pull a trigger at me back there.” He said back to me and I rolled my eyes a little before turning back to him.

“Stop overreacting, damn.”

“I wasn’t overreacting, that was exactly as it happened, I was only calling it as it is.” He responded and I huffed out a slow sigh before placing a hand on his shoulder in the next second.

“Let’s go meet up with Sarah in the kitchen, I haven’t told her you were going to be coming because it’s always cute watching the shock cross her face at first.” I said to James who perked up in the next moment, all our previous talk completely forgotten.

“Alright, alright, that’s a good thing.” He said to me as he walked down the hallway together with my hand still on his shoulder.

“We won’t be spending too much time there please, so you had better make the whole thing brisk, because of the meeting we have to have.” I informed him and breathed out a scuff when he scowled at me in the next second.

We made our way out of the kitchen, after we'd both grabbed a cold drink each, and then we were both making our way down the hallway into my office. I sank down into my seat and James took the one opposite me at the same time and coincidentally, we both placed our drinks on the desk at the same time, making our eyes lock and a grin to break out on our faces at the same time.

This particular type of coincidence happens with James and I that at this point it wasn’t even supposed to be a shock to me, but it still made us laugh each time it happened, like we had always reacted to it ever since we were kids.

But then James, bringing who he was, decided to ruin the whole mood with his next words.

“So how many rounds have you done with your little wife on this desk?” He asked as he picked up his drink from the table and the mouthful of drink which I had been about to swallow down a fleeting second ago, got spat out from my mouth instantly.

“What the hell, man?” I demanded as I turned my eyes on him with a scowl on my face, but he only shook his head at me before starting to speak. “Telling by your reaction, it’s so obvious that I’m completely right – I wonder if this desk is even clean, just how much of a slut you are?”

“Fuck you, man.” I said to him after staring at him for a few long seconds, and his heaving laughs filled up the whole of the office in the next moment.

“Hello there, once again.” I watched as Sofia interacted with James. They were currently standing a good amount of feet away from each other and I was super glad that she had decided to change into something else before coming down the stairs. She was currently in a blue colored gown that I thought complimented her eyes so much, and a her strands of her hair was framing her face a little with the rest rolled into a bun on the top of her head, but unlike back in the room which she used in painting whereby a pencil held it up, it looked like she used a fucktons of ribbons and hair clips to hold it up in such a classy way, making the bun look loose and firm at the same time.
