The lazy Xion took a relaxing breath while pushing all his weight on Darius’ legs.

After listening to the sudden question, he tilted his head, his blue eyes gleaming with mischief as he stared at the handsome face from an entirely different angle.

"You... are like an ancient artifact."

Darius blinked once. "...Come again?"

While resting his head on the comfy lap, he closed his eyes and muttered lazily, "The ones covered in ominous inscriptions, rumored to have been owned by a long-dead warlord or someone like that, and definitely responsible for at least a few if not many disappearances?"

Darius’ eyes narrowed slightly at the description. His hand which was casually rubbing against the soft strands also halted.

"Am I so ominous?"

"Pffftt..." Despite trying hard to stifle his laughter, a few strangled noises still escaped his pursed lips.

"Yeah, you are. Everyone’s terrified of you, but at the same time, they can’t get rid of you. You’re too important. Too legendary. People don’t want to be near you, but they also don’t wanna be the idiot who disrespects the scary artifact and gets cursed."

Xion rested his cheek against his arm and turned his face to the other side, showing his back to the archduke who was still as silent as before.

"So they just tiptoe around, whispering about your terrifying past and praying you don’t suddenly come to life and doom their entire bloodline."

The fingers fell on his head and a certain lazy kitten who was a wee bit away from stretching and exposing his belly for a rub, groaned in comfort. Then, he stopped talking altogether.

Darius exhaled slowly as if searching for more patience to deal with his healer. "...And you?"
