Broken And Pregnant novel Chapter 29

"Sleep, tight baby." I softly whispered in his ears. 

I gently stroke his cute little face and he made a soft cry when his lips slide on my breast. I set a smile on my face. I'm happy that's he's perfectly fine and healthy. 

I turned my head on the side table to see if my phone had a missed call and I saw one. Austin was finally asleep so I put him beside me. I reach my phone and check the person that called me. 

It's Kent. I saw one text message too. 

"I'll pick you up tomorrow. I'm so sorry Lucy. I'll explain myself tomorrow." I bit my lower lip and grip my phone tightly. 

"How dare you! Go and talk to me. I'll never forgive you, Kent!" I took a deep breath to calm myself. 

I don't know if he knew about Eloisa's fake illness. Maybe Kent doesn't know about it. He's not a bad guy and I know that even we lost contact for ten years, he can't do such a thing to me. I know that destiny bound us together that night. Our encounter is not planned. It's destiny. 

My eyes feel heavy as the clock hit nine in the evening. I must take a rest for tomorrow's discharge. But still, I'm disappointed about my father when he bestowed his only daughter. 

I didn't even realize that I fall asleep while thinking about my son's future.

Kent POV

I woke up early to meet Lucy at the hospital. I will pick her and our baby and bring them home. I feel guilty about what I've done to her and will do later but I had no choice. Even I hurt her again, I can't renounce our plan. My family matters to me and even she will curse me for the rest of my life, I'll accept it heartedly. 

"Are you sure you're ready about this?" I was startled when Eloisa mumbled behind me. 

I simply looked back and shrugged my shoulders. 

"Just used the other car. If Lucy saw you with me, I guess she won't accept my proposal." I warned her for interfering with my plan. 

She just rolled her eyes and waited until my car disappeared from her sight.

Lucy and baby Austin we're now ready to go. She waited for Kent to fetch them. As the door open, she instantly saw Kent. She quickly stood up and kiss him on his lips. It was light and gentle but even so, he seems cold to her. She frowned.

The villa was filled with colorful flowers and balloons when Lucy came home with Kent and their baby Austin. Her face brightened and her heart raises how he surprised her for her homecoming. 

Kent helps her and he hired a nanny to take care of their baby. 

"Happy homecoming!" Kent's voice sounded lonely and Lucy noticed it. She also recalled the time he called her that he was sorry about everything. 

Was it about Eloisa? 

Lucy kisses him on his cheek. 

"It's awesome." She simply said and told the nanny to take the baby inside her room and feed him with a milk bottle. 

Lucy POV

I know something is not right and that made me have some butterflies in my stomach. I felt weird and strange after I gave birth. Kent's eyes look distant while his wife suddenly visits her or the hospital and told her that she will file a case against me and her sinful husband. I guess this was the reason why Kent was holding back his feelings until now.
