Broken And Pregnant novel Chapter 38

Gregory noticed something, her father. When he stalked her, he received a report that her father died ten years ago so how can a death rose again and came back to life? Was it just a rumor or they both survived during that time? 

Gregory POV 

I heard and know stuff about Eloisa's wickedness. She can't fool me again. She was the one who ordered to kidnapped and killed them that day. 

"I heard your father died many years ago. It was all over the news." His curiosity brought a question to Lucy. 

I never thought my question would hurt her. She began to look pale and grasp the steel bar tightly. She seems anxious about what I've said. 

"What? What did you say?" She asked me with her trembling voice.

Gregory can't continue anymore because she seems scared to talk about it. 

" Never mind. Anyway, it's a good thing your father came back and alive." I told her and about to stand but a hand stops me on my shoulders. It's Lucy.

"It's okay. Even I was shocked too. I want to ask dad what happened that day and why he hide from me for over ten years and----" she didn't continue and burst out into tears. I'm wrong and an idiot. Why I brought back that tragic past when she decided to forget all of it? I'm a moron. 

I decided to cheer her up. 

" Why don't we grab a coffee outside? Let's go!" I invited her. 

She took a sigh and finally accepted my offer. 

This morning I called Kent how was Austin and I'm glad that he's totally fine. Even this simple action and help for Lucy made my heart and mind in peace. I know I did wrong to her and I don't have a right to smile in front of her but if this is the only way to ease my burden, I'll do it. 

In order two cappuccino coffee for us. She silently followed me like a ghost. I don't know what she's thinking right now but I am willing to help her this time. Lucy had a hard time after giving birth. Eloisa attack her in the hospital, they took and adopt her baby, her father almost died and she recently found out that Kent lied to her on their first meeting. They used her and I know I was the one who makes their dream come true. If I didn't look for Lucy, maybe Eloisa won't find her. 

I was too busy thinking about my mistakes when Lucy speak out. 

"I'm going back to the mansion after this to take Austin. Will you help me?" She calmly asks me. 

I took a sip first after answering her.
