When Tracy heard that her daughter had voluntarily recognized Sandra as her mother, her eyes went red, and she was overcome with emotion, her voice breaking.

"It's impossible! How could she call Sandra her mom? Robert, tell me this isn't true!"

She collapsed into Robert's arms, and if he hadn't caught her, she might have fallen to the ground.

At this point, Robert's emotions were complicated, but he said, "Tracy, I think you need to accept reality."

Elaine had never really wanted to come back.

He had once hoped that if Elaine didn't do well outside, she would eventually return to them, but it had all been wishful thinking.

Elaine despised them, especially Tracy.

She couldn't stand how Tracy showered all her affection on Bianca, time and time again choosing Bianca over her.

Robert sighed deeply. "We hoped that if Elaine didn't find success, she would return to us. But now that Sandra's people have come to take her, it's clear. Elaine might never come back here again."

Tracy trembled, her body shaking with sobs. "I finally got her back, and now, because of Bianca, all the distance and conflict. I've let go of my past bitterness, decided to build a relationship with my daughter... but now she's leaving me."

"I know it's because I favored Bianca, and she resented me for it, that's why she's so cold towards me."

"I thought if I held onto Bianca, I could still make up for it with Elaine, that one day, she'd understand me. But now, now..."

Now, everything had taken a turn she couldn't have predicted.

Elaine had not just left her—she'd gone to Sandra, her sworn enemy, and recognized her as her mother.

Tracy was torn between her love for her daughter and hatred for Sandra. If Sandra hadn't inserted herself into their lives, Elaine wouldn't have recognized a woman with no blood ties to her as her mother.

Yet, Tracy conveniently forgot one thing: every time, she had chosen to abandon Elaine.

Tracy could barely speak, her voice cracking as she said, "But now... now Elaine has called someone else 'mom.' Doesn't she even want to give me a chance to make up for everything?"

She turned to Robert, pleading. "Please, let's bring Elaine back. She's our daughter! I haven't had a chance to love her properly, I haven't made up for my past mistakes. I feel so guilty about Elaine. If she comes back, I will make it right for the rest of my life."

Tracy couldn't bear the thought of her daughter belonging to Sandra. First, their relationship was a mess, and second, she simply couldn't accept her daughter rejecting her and calling another woman "mom."

But Robert, uninterested in her emotional outbursts, replied calmly, "Tracy, this is no longer something we can control."

Tracy cried even harder. "But if I don't make up for it with Elaine, I'll never forgive myself. Robert, I owe Elaine so much. I didn't care for her the way a mother should. I've let her down. I really am sorry to Elaine."

Robert grew irritated by her constant crying, unsure why women were so indecisive—unable to give up this and that, forever trapped in their emotions.

Elaine was gone, and now the only daughter they had left was Bianca. It would be much less complicated with just one.

Finally, Robert cut her off, "Enough. Since Graham and Elaine have chosen George and Sandra, it's a decision that even a mother can't change. Your tantrums won't help."

"If Elaine wants to stay with George, then let her. She's been distant from us for so long, just like Bianca, who's been with us from the start."

Robert's words were final, and Tracy could do nothing but obey.
