Chapter 87
Chapter 87
The next day, Shawn received the termination letter from Elaine
It was only then that he remembered–when Elaine had announced her temporary retreat from the industry, she had signed with her own company, Galaxy Entertainment.
His emotions were a mix of confusion and guilt.
He’d never really supported his younger sister, Elaine. All the resources at Galaxy Entertainment had been funneled into Bianca. Not only that, but he’d often subtly punished Elaine for “bullying” Bianca, and as a result, Elaine had been stuck in the entertainment industry’s underbelly, stuck with a blacklisted B–list reputation.
Looking at the termination letter, which was filled with complaints about Galaxy Entertainment and himself, Shawn frowned. He looked up and asked, “Where’s Miss Yeats?”
Shawn looked up and casually asked, “What about Miss Yeats?”
Lisa had just handed over Elaine’s contract termination letter, expecting Shawn to fly off the handle. She assumed that, once Elaine’s actions were brought to light, there would be some severe punishment in store for her.
After all, even though Elaine and Bianca were both Shawn’s sisters, their treatment couldn’t have been more different. The people in the company were sharp, knowing full well which of the ladies could be crossed and which couldn’t. Bianca was treated like royalty, while Elaine, if not outright bullied, was certainly given the cold shoulder.
But this time, when Shawn saw the termination letter, not only did he not lose his temper, but he actually asked where Elaine was. Lisa found this utterly baffling.
She thought to herself, ‘Clearly, Shawn is referring to Miss Yeats as Elaine, not Bianca. When did he ever speak about Elaine so casually?‘
Lisa, who had been confused just moments ago, suddenly had an epiphany–something was off. ‘Is the company’s atmosphere about to shift?”
She quickly answered, “Miss Yeats should be arriving soon. The termination letter came in at 8 AM this morning, so I thought I’d bring it to you right away. Please take a look.”
“Alright. Shawn set the letter aside and waited for Elaine.
Less than fifteen minutes later, Elaine arrived at the company.
The entire staff was caught off guard. Six months had passed since they’d last seen Elaine, and now she was walking in like she owned the place.
Half a year ago, she’d resigned from the lead role in God of War and announced her retirement from the industry.
At the time, many people whispered behind her back, claiming she’d been humiliated by hercompetition with Bianca, the “true” daughter of the Yeats family. They believed she had resigned in disgrace after Bianca won the battle, including giving up a golden opportunity in a blockbuster movie.
The industry had laughed at her, but now, her return was anything but what they expected.
First, she drove in a globally customized sports car, one so expensive that only a select few could afford it.

Chapter 87
It wasn’t just any luxury car–it was a 100 million dollar marvel. Even Bianca, the Yeats family’s favorite, couldn’t dream of driving such a car. But Elaine? She cruised in it like she owned the world.
The neves spread like wildfire throughout the office. Those who had been opportunistically siding with Bianca were now filled with unease. And there were those, curious and eager for gossip, who rushed downstairs to check things out.
As Elaine’s sports car roared toward the entrance, even the guards stationed at Galaxy Entertainment couldn’t help but gape It was nothing short of jaw–dropping.
Elaine, wearing oversized sunglasses, drove up, unapologetically aunting her presence. The car’s roar matched her defiant air, and as she took off her sunglasses, she gave the building a knowing smile.
Her eyes–mysterious and playful–spoke volumes.
This wasn’t the same Elaine who had quietly endured for the sake of her family. She had changed, and the people at Galaxy Entertainment were about to feel it.
The woman who had been sitting in the chauffeur–driven car was taken aback when she saw the strikingly radiant Elaine. Her surprise was obvious.
Without hesitation, she got out of the car and greeted Elaine, “Eline?”
Elaine stepped out of the 100–million–dollar sports car, her eyes deepening as she looked at the woman and smiled faintly. “Long time no see, Livia. Didn’t expect to run into you here.”
Livia Barker stumbled over her words, forcing a tight smile. “Elaine… it’s really you. I heard from people in the company that you announced your retirement from the entertainment industry. How come you’re back? By the way, whose car is thist It must be expensive, a car like this…”
Livia had been keeping an eye out, hoping to confirm if the rumors were true–that Elaine was really as glamorous as people said. And it seemed to be true.
Elaine raised an eyebrow and gave Livia a knowing look. Their relationship used to be decent enough. Livia, a small–time model in the company, had always been overlooked and even bullied by minor company leaders. Elaine, seeing her situation, would occasionally step in to help.
But in her past life, Livia didn’t remember Elaine’s kindness. Instead, she had betrayed her and sided with Bianca.
Without Elaine, Livia would still be that insignificant model, constantly getting trampled on by others. Now, she had a manager and a chauffeur–driven car, thanks to her self–serving nature.
Someone like her deserved all the bullying she got.
“I did announce my retirement, but I didn’t say I’d be retired forever, did I? As for this car, what’s it to you?” Elaine’s tone was defiant, her attitude brimming with arrogance.
Livia, seeing the change in Elaine’s attitude, thought she might have upset her somehow. Despite Elaine’s cold treatment at the Yeats family, Livia still thought she could benefit from her, and would often try to appease her. Now, she couldn’t even get a decent response.
“Elaine…” Livia managed to force a smile, about to say something more, but Elaine turned and walked away, leaving her
behind.
Livia’s smile immediately froze on her face.
