Jackson’s struggle suddenly ceased, and he collapsed to his knees.
The police captain awkwardly helped him up, his lips trembling as he forced out a
stiff condolence.
Jackson bitterly covered his face with his hands. “Rachel… told me the baby wasn’t
mine, that Jenna lost it on purpose. I was a fool… Jenna was so kind, she loved me so
much. How could she have done something like that?”
“I took Jenna’s love for granted and gave Rachel the chance to hurt her.”
Tears streamed through Jackson’s fingers.
“The one who should’ve died… should’ve been me.”
Zoey had my body cremated.
After being buried for so long, she just wanted me to find peace as soon as possible.
Jackson followed the urn like a lost soul, having lost so much weight in just a few
days that he was barely recognizable.
Rachel’s guilt in hiring the hitmen was undeniable, and Jackson, as the victim’s family
member, ‘shed for the death penalty, refusing any compensation.
But unfortunately, Rachel was pregnant.
And it was Jackson’s child.

“Jackson, I had my reasons,” Rachel said weakly, wiping her tears. “You love me so
much; I know you’ll forgive me, right?”
Jackson smiled gently, his voice soft. “Yes, of course, I love
you so much.”
Rachel didn’t suspect a thing, already planning how to escape justice.
Jackson drove them to the outskirts of the city, with the car’s sound system playing
softly in the background.
Rachel kept chattering, pouting playfully. “You scared me so much that day, you have
to buy me some bags to make it up to me.”
“You really had me fooled, Jackson-I thought you still had feelings for her. I was
upset for so long.”
“It’s not like I killed her. What did I do wrong? If she hadn’t gone, she wouldn’t have
died. Some people are just born to suffer, and that’s their fate.”
“It’s such bad luck. If that b**h hadn’t died, everything would be fine. I just wanted

“Jackson, let’s go. I don’t want to go to jail. Let’s run away together, and I’ll give you
lots of babies, okay?”
Jackson suddenly slammed on the brakes. Rachel noticed the change in scenery
outside and froze, her words trailing off.
