Carl stopped halfway through her sentence.
Arnold leisurely walked back with his hands in his pockets, his blue eyes filled with a sly smile. "What's wrong with me? Tell me."
Carl sneered, "Hmph."
Arnold teased him intentionally, "Hehe."
Carl refused to back down, "Hehehe!"
Victoria, "..."
Are they childish or just bored?
Is it lunchtime yet?
It was already noon, and the three of them went to a nearby restaurant for lunch.
After finishing their lunch, as they were about to leave the private room, Arnold received a phone call from home. It seemed like it was an important call that couldn't be finished in just a few sentences.
Arnold signaled to Victoria that he needed to take the call nearby.
Victoria waved her hand, telling him to go ahead and take the call while she and Carl waited there.
After Arnold walked away.
Victoria and Carl were about to return to the private room and wait for Arnold.
After taking two steps, Victoria noticed that Carl was still standing at the entrance of the private room, looking towards the left side of the corridor.
"What's wrong?" Victoria asked suspiciously.
"I saw a senior in the entertainment industry over there," Carl pointed in that direction with her hand.
Victoria followed her gaze and saw a thin and somewhat listless old man in the corridor.
Half of the old man's hair had turned white, and there were wrinkles on his face, but his eyes were still clear and filled with a scholarly air.
At a glance, Victoria recognized him. He was a famous old actor in the entertainment industry named Johnny Musk, who had won a lifetime achievement award. He was a highly respected veteran artist.
In Victoria's impression, this senior was always spirited and even participated in some well-written film and television dramas despite his old age.
Why did he look a bit unwell today?
Johnny seemed to be focused on his phone, seemingly reading some information, and didn't notice the trash bin in the corridor. He tripped over it as he walked past the entrance of the private room.
The spot where Johnny fell happened to be right at the entrance of the private room.
Carl quickly reached out and helped him up. "Please be careful."
Victoria followed up, "Are you okay?"
Old people were most afraid of falling. A fall could potentially injure their bodies.
Johnny stabilized himself and gratefully smiled, "I'm fine, thank you."
Victoria let out a sigh of relief and was about to say something when she saw Trent and Amelia walking towards them.
As soon as Trent arrived, he took Johnny from Carl's hand and pulled him over. "Mr. Musk, the private room I arranged for you is on the third floor. You came to the second floor."
Johnny sighed. "I'm getting old and can't even find a private room."
"That's not true. You look energetic," Trent said with a serious expression, but it was obvious that he didn't mean what he said. After speaking, he looked at Carl beside him with a mocking smile.
"Carl, the general manager of Imperial Style Entertainment, Mr. Musk has agreed to sign with our Montgomery Entertainment. Please don't engage in any despicable behavior behind our backs."
Carl narrowed her eyes and her voice turned cold. "Trent, do you think everyone is as shameless as you? I just helped Mr. Musk, what are you afraid of?"
Victoria was speechless.
Amelia drawing a design for Mr. Musk's wife?
It was just another case of her plagiarizing her previous work.
Carl continued, "Mr. Musk and his wife have a strong bond. When he heard that Amelia could soothe his wife's biggest regret by designing a gown similar to Ivy's, and that his wife could wear it before she passed away from cancer, Mr. Musk changed his mind and agreed to sign with Trent."
A mischievous smile appeared on Victoria's lips as her eyes sparkled. "Even if Amelia can design something similar, it won't be the one Mr. Musk's wife truly desires."
Carl shrugged helplessly. "There's nothing we can do. Ivy's gown is only for display and not for sale. Mr. Musk's wife will be satisfied with something similar designed by Amelia."
Carl didn't blame Johnny for changing his mind. After all, he had a great relationship with his wife and wanted to fulfill her biggest regret before she passed away.
In fact, when Carl found out that Victoria was actually Ivy, he had thought about asking her if she would sell the gown. He was willing to pay a high price to buy it and give it to Mr. Musk's wife, which would still help him sign with Mr. Musk.
But then he realized that Victoria only displayed her gowns and didn't sell them, so she must have her reasons.
Carl chose to respect Victoria and didn't want to use their family relationship to force her into selling it.
Looking at himself, Carl couldn't help but feel touched by his own understanding nature.
However, the next moment, he saw Victoria resting her head on her hand, adopting a boss-like posture. "Don't worry, Trent will never sign Johnny in his lifetime."
Carl was taken aback and swallowed his saliva before asking, "Victoria, I've noticed that you've been particularly targeting Trent lately."
Victoria's lips curled into a bright smile. "I'm just dealing with Trent."
After saying that, she stood up casually and said, "Let's go."
Carl quickly stood up and followed her. "Where are we going?"
