The police officer eventually brought the constantly arguing father and son to the police station for mediation.

"You all want the right to dispose of the deceased's body, which puts us in a difficult position. Here's the deal, if you can provide the deceased's last wishes, we will try our best to respect their desires," the officer said.

Alaric and Nathan stared at each other.

They knew in their hearts and minds that they had hurt Mrs. Hill, and Mrs. Hill was definitely not willing to entrust them with her affairs after her passing.

But they were once Mrs. Hill's closest people, whether out of emotion or for their own reputation, they all wanted to fight for Mrs. Hill's body.

Theo walked up to Nathan and gazed at the exhausted Nathan, suddenly giving a knowing smile.

"Nathan, how did you manage to get yourself into such a sorry state? Tsk tsk tsk," Theo said with a look of pity.

Nathan exclaimed angrily, "It's all because of you. Theo, how dare you come... how do you have the audacity to come."

The police officer explained the reason why Theo and Thea were here. "Nathan, your mother's last phone call was to Ms. Thea, so we called her to come and learn about the case."

Nathan looked at Thea in astonishment, "Impossible, my mom used to dislike her the most."

Nathan completely broke down.

He was furious and yelled at Thea. "Thea, you are clearly deliberately going against me. You have a cruel heart, making me even more miserable than if you had taken my life. My mother passed away, and yet you won't let me pay my respects to her."

He started crying uncontrollably as he kept talking.

He was in such pain, he thought Thea would feel guilty.

Nathan, worried about Victoria's safety, abandoned the severely ill Isabella on the desolate streets. She had questioned him before, saying, "Why are you concerned about Victoria's safety but not about her illness?"
