Instantly, Alyssa's waterworks were turned on. Warm tears of joy streamed down her cheeks.

She knew it. She had always known it. From the moment she first saw Remy, she was certain he was Damien. Despite his cold, heartless, and distant demeanor, that familiar sense of kinship had left no doubt in her mind.

"Madam, what's wrong?" Rosie quickly pulled out a handkerchief and hurried to wipe Alyssa's tears.

Alyssa forced herself to stay calm. In a low, steady voice, she asked, "Cyrus, have you told anyone else about this?"

Having worked on many cases over the years, Cyrus knew how to maintain his composure.

"No," he answered. "This is big news. I've only told you. I haven't mentioned it to Dad or Mom."

"Good. For now, we need to keep this between us. Don't tell Dad or Mandy."

Alyssa's chest tightened, her eyes burning with intensity. "I'm worried we'll tip off the enemy. Worse still, the person controlling Damien might hurt him if his identity is revealed."

Cyrus responded with equal seriousness, "Lyse, don't worry. I've considered that too. When I get home, I'll keep this from my mother and calm her down. Otherwise, knowing her, she'll turn the whole country upside down looking for Damien. Who knows what chaos that would cause!"

He paused, a troubled expression crossing his face. "But if Damien's alive... who saved him after he fell into the sea? What happened to him? And why has he changed so much?"

Alyssa's heart ached at the thought of the horrifying scar on Damien's body. "I'm afraid Damien has lost all his memories. He doesn't remember us at all. I saw that scar. There's no way he could've survived on his own without someone saving him. Someone must've rescued him, treated him, and then..."

"When we were at Jameson's, Jasper took medications Sir gave him. They turned him into the emotionless machine he is now. And it seems Damien's condition is similar. Could it be that Damien took the same medication, which turned him into who he is now?"

Cyrus questioned, "What the hell was that medication?"

"Previously, Jul mentioned that it was a medication that damaged cranial nerves. Plus, it's irreversible."

"So, even if we find Damien, he's already been manipulated and brainwashed. Would he even want to come home with us?"

At the mention of home, a lump formed in Alyssa's throat. She took a deep breath and said, "Don't worry, Cyrus. I will wake Damien up, no matter the cost. I will bring him home."
