Rosie looked a bit worried but also relieved. "I hope there won't be any more problems."

"Don't worry," Sienna comforted her. "I've got some free time, so I can be with you during your surgery."

"Really? That's great!"

After their follow-up, Josiah went to the parking garage to get the car while Sienna and Rosie waited at the entrance.

"Mr. Edgar." Ethan smiled, being overly polite. "Mr. Evans wants to see you, and I'm here to take you to him."

Josiah let out a low laugh, unimpressed. "Just because he wants to see me, I have to go?"

"Eighth Master." Old Lu grinned, seeming well-prepared, "Ms. Shaw and Ms. Miller are currently on their way to Clearbay Estates."

What? Josiah's eyes widened in alarm, and his expression darkened... Andy was just a scumbag who only knew how to bully women.

Clenching his jaw tightly, he snapped, "I'm coming with you. Don't you dare hurt her! Not a single hair."

Ethan nodded respectfully, "Rest assured, Mr. Edgar."

Clearbay Estates. Josiah stepped into the foyer and heard voices before he saw anyone.

"Sienna! Sienna!"

In the living room, Sienna and Rosie were sitting together on the couch, both bewildered and unsure of what was going on.

When they heard the voice, they instantly stood up in response. "I'm here!"

As Josiah walked into the living room, he spotted her right away. He quickly approached, placing a hand on her shoulder as he scanned her from head to toe.

"Are you okay? Did they scare you? Did they hurt you?"

"No..." Sienna was confused, wondering why they had suddenly been stopped and brought here as they waited for him.

Right after that, Josiah arrived. She thought, 'What does this have to do with him?'

Furrowing her brows, Sienna quietly asked, "What happened?"

Josiah's brow was tightly knitted. "It's too complicated to explain right now. Let's just get you out of here!"

He reached out and took her hand.

"Hold Rosie's hand!"

"Okay!"

"Where are we going?"

Upstairs, someone was coming down. Andy looked a bit flustered, breathing unevenly, and smiled at Josiah. "Right after you arrive, you're already leaving? After all the trouble I went through to bring Ms. Shaw here, that'd be a waste!"

"Don't worry," Josiah said, glancing down at Sienna. "I won't let anything happen to you."

He released her hand and stepped up to Andy, teeth clenched as he hissed, "What did you bring her here for? This is between you and me."

Andy frowned at the intensity of Josiah's anger. "She's fine, isn't she? Just a little scared."

"A little scared is still unacceptable!" Josiah shot back, his fury barely contained. "Do you even realize how precious she is? If she gets scared, can you afford to pay back? Am I not being clear enough? I have no interest in the Evans family."

"Understood," Andy nodded. "But..." He raised an eyebrow, shifting his tone, "After all these years, don't you want to meet your mom?"

What did he just say? Those few words sent a shockwave through Josiah's mind.

"My..." Josiah's eyes flickered, his lips parted slightly as he seemed to register the word. "My... mom?"

"Surprised?" Andy laughed softly. "Well. Did you forget you even have a mom?"

Of course not. After escaping the Evans family, Josiah had thought about that crazy woman living in the little house more than once. He'd tried to gather information about her.

Josiah's heart nearly stopped. He lowered his gaze to the woman in his arms, reaching up to brush aside her tangled hair.

He opened his mouth but couldn't find the words; it felt like his throat was glued shut, leaving him speechless.

"Ah..." The woman trembled, even more frightened by his presence. "Let... let me go!"

"What?" Josiah felt a surge of anxiety fill his chest, his throat constricting painfully.
