Chapter 217
Finley walked over with a smile and greeted Alton sweetly, “Nice to meet you, Grandpa. I brought you a gift. I hope that you will like it.”
Finley glanced at Harry, so Harry handed the box in his hand to Alton.
Alton found tea in the box, looked surprised, and said, “It’s rare on the market. How did you buy it?”
Finley looked at Bryan. “Bryan prepared for me regardless of all the troubles. He also helped me prepare gifts for the others.”
Bryan stood transfixed with shock. Did I? When?
Finley cast a cold glance at Harry.
Harry nodded with a smile and distributed the gifts to the others in the parlor.
Finley was young but sophisticated, so she left a good impression on her new acquaintances. Vickie wore a white cheongsam with a sad face as if she was at the funeral.
Evan didn’t like the family gathering. He played with his phone on the sofa.
There was a man in a black shirt. He looked elegant and gentle with a pair of metal frame glasses. The man sat in a wheelchair. After receiving the gift from Finlev he said with a smile, “Thank you very much, Finley. You didn’t have to do so.”
“This is what I should do. Otherwise, I will become a laughing stock, Finley answered with a smile. She fixed her eyes on Connor Turner.
Connor was Bryan’s third uncle, in his thirties.
Connor was talented in the business. He became disabled because of an accident years ago.
With a sneer, Bryan put his arm around Finley’s waist and whispered, “Are you angry? She cursed our children.”
“Do you believe her words?” Finley poked Bryan on the chest with a smile.
This was the public display of affection for the others in the parlor.
Alton was shocked at first and then he smiled with relief.
Bryan and Finley made a great process. I would see my great-grandson soon.
This intimacy irritated Evan, who had just finished his game.
Evan was so angry that he protested to Alton. “Grandpa, they torture me, so why don’t you lecture them?”
