Michael, somewhat reluctant, pulled Zoe aside. "Zoe, I really like you. No matter who you are, I like you just the way you are."

Zoe, though not Nash’s biological aunt, had become highly regarded by him after the recent turmoil at York Corporation. Nash now treated Zoe as his own family. This was evident from how Zoe had become involved in the company’s advertising campaigns.

Michael had worked hard to build a connection with her and wasn’t about to let it slip away. But Zoe was unaware of his intentions; to her, Michael just seemed outdated in his thinking.

She glanced at Nina for help, but before she could react, Michael cupped Zoe’s face in his hands. Startled, she immediately pushed him away.

Nina let out a scream and rushed over to Zoe, clinging to her while crying hysterically. The tears and cries made it seem like Zoe had truly broken her heart.

"You can’t be with him! I won’t allow it! You promised me. You said you’d never leave me…" Her voice trailed off as she choked on her tears, making it seem like Zoe really had broken her heart.

A few onlookers began whispering among themselves.

Zoe quietly comforted Nina while glaring at Michael. "Michael, I’m not into men. Give up on me. Please, stop bothering me."

With that, she wrapped her arm around Nina and quickly walked out of the hotel. Neither of them dared to make a sound, fearing that Michael might follow them and cause more trouble.

"Is he following us?" Zoe’s voice trembled.

Nina shook her head. "No, but he’s watching us… Wait, Nash just came downstairs."

Zoe picked up the pace, not wanting Nash to disrupt their plan.

"Hold on, Nash is walking towards Michael. They’re talking," Nina said, squinting to try and read Nash’s lips.

"Nash told Michael that if he doesn’t back off, he’ll blacklist him."

Zoe had no choice but to swear she wouldn’t take Nina along. She couldn’t help but wonder what kind of gathering it was that Nina couldn’t attend.

Meanwhile, York Corporation was still dealing with the aftermath of the recent upheaval. Although most employees were loyal to Nash, there were always a few who held grudges.

One such person was Xavier Wright, the former head of HR. He had been fired for supporting William and was now banned from ever returning to the company. Holding a deep grudge, he decided to play his cards carefully, eventually pulling strings to arrange a meeting with Sally, who was now staying in a rehabilitation center.

The wind gently blew Sally’s hair out of place, and the caretaker standing beside her quickly fixed it with attentive care.

Xavier, watching from nearby, couldn’t help but feel awkward. If the caretaker had been a woman, it wouldn’t have seemed so strange. But the fact that it was a man in his forties made the whole situation rather odd.

"Mr. Wright," Sally said calmly. "I doubt you came all the way to this rehab center just to soak up some sun, did you?"
