"She’s not our nanny. She’s my mom!" Orion shouted angrily, pounding on Madison’s leg.

In response, Madison kicked him away, sending him to the ground. He landed on his backside, and looked up at her with hurt and confusion in his eyes.

The incident happened so quickly that by the time Nina realized what had occurred, Orion was already on the ground. She hurried to scoop him up, holding him tightly. When she stood up again, she fixed Madison with a cold stare.

Madison took two steps back, her voice trembling. "What are you going to do? I didn’t kick him that hard! He fell on his own. It’s not my fault!"

"So, you’re Madison, huh? I’ll remember that. If my son has any issues because of this, my lawyer will be in touch. And by the way, isn’t your husband a big-time manager at some company? I’m sure you can afford the medical bills, right? Just make sure not to dodge the responsibility."

Nina hadn’t intended to make a big deal out of this, but kicking her son was crossing the line. If she let this slide, she wouldn’t be Nina. Her tone was so icy that not only did Madison shrink back in fear, but even the nearby parents took a few steps away.

Nina didn’t care. She carried Orion back to the resting area.

The competition continued, with kids celebrating their victories and others throwing tantrums over their losses. As the day moved closer to noon, Nina received a message from Nash, informing her that something urgent had come up at the company and he had to head back to the office.

Rather than call him to vent her frustration, Nina calmly contacted a restaurant to arrange lunch for everyone. There was no need for her to cook personally.

If the teacher had entrusted Madison with organizing lunch, it meant they weren’t too concerned about how it turned out, or maybe they were just trying to keep everyone happy. In that case, she might as well make sure everyone enjoyed their meal.

"That’s great. Just be careful not to hit any kids when you come in," Nina said before hanging up. She smiled at the parent. "Please be patient. Lunch will be ready very soon."

The parent glanced nervously at the temporary kitchen setup in the distance, then forced a smile in return.
