Before the assistant could finish his sentence, Joe shot him a look that made him go silent.

Joe did not want to use underhanded tactics anymore. He wanted Yvonne to stay by his side willingly.

After talking with the doctor about some care details, Joe left to buy a small cake. When he returned, he saw Nina trying to help Yvonne eat. However, Yvonne was refusing, despite Nina’s patient coaxing.

Joe walked over, took the food away, and placed the small cake on the table.

The moment Yvonne saw the cake, her face lit up, and she clapped her hands, shouting, "Cake! Cake!"

Joe felt a wave of relief and excitement. Acting surprised, he said, "Does Little Sister like cake? Then I will buy you all the cake you want. How does that sound?"

Yvonne beamed, nodding eagerly, "Yes! I want lots of cake!"

Nina pulled Joe aside, warning him, "If you keep giving her cake, she’ll never eat proper meals."

Joe smirked confidently, "Don’t worry, I’ll make sure she eats her meals. Thrice a day, no exceptions."

Feeling victorious, he returned to Yvonne, gently wiping the crumbs from her mouth.

"Does Little Sister want to stay with me, or go home with Nina?" Joe asked softly, knowing Yvonne’s preferences would remain intact even in her fragile state.

Yvonne grabbed his hand, "I want to stay with you."

Nina, growing concerned, tried to reason with her, "Yvonne, he’s not a good person."

But Yvonne, ignoring her, just kept smiling at Joe, her face full of childlike happiness.

With that, Joe took Yvonne with him. Nina could only hope for the best.

To care for her, Joe bought a villa on the outskirts of town, complete with a children’s playground. He was ready to treat Yvonne like a child, but on the first day, trouble came.

He carried her to bed and immediately called the doctor to understand what had triggered the episode. He knew this would be a long road, with much to learn along the way.

Luckily, after that day, Yvonne did not have any more outbursts. She just quietly followed Joe around everywhere he went, never leaving his side.

Nina, still worried, convinced Nash to take her to the villa to check on Yvonne. From a distance, they saw Yvonne clinging to the hem of Joe’s shirt, holding a stuffed doll in her other hand.

Joe was patiently feeding her, though Yvonne stubbornly spat out every bite of vegetables he gave her.

Nina sighed deeply, "Do you think I should’ve pushed her harder to leave? Maybe then she wouldn’t have met Nigel."

Nash shook his head, "It’s their fate, hers and Joe’s. Even if she had left, something else would’ve brought them back together."

Nina looked up at him. "So fate makes mistakes too? It puts people together who don’t really belong with each other, doesn’t it?"
