“Quincy is a person, Mom. A good one. He’s worked hard for everything he has. What gives you the right to look down on him? What gives you the right to treat him like that?”

Mrs. Fay was stunned. She had thought Lydia’s time at the York Corporation was just a phase, something to experience before settling down. She hadn’t expected her daughter to develop genuine feelings.
