Nash furrowed his brows. "What about me?"

Nash went to open the door. The helper handed him an invitation. "Sir, this is an invitation from the Gibson family."

"You can go," he instructed the helper.

Nash opened the invitation, which was for the seventieth birthday celebration sent by Grandpa George. Despite knowing Grandpa George for so long, he rarely attended his birthday celebrations.

They had an unspoken agreement not to disturb each other excessively. This time, sending the invitation meant that it was an important occasion for Grandpa George and he should attend.

Besides, Grandpa George was frugal due to his military background and did not like extravagance. This was likely just a family dinner. Those people would also be there. He furrowed his brows slightly, feeling hesitant, but considering Grandpa George's old age, he should be more considerate.

Turning back, he found Nina already lying down. He spoke again, "Nina, accompany me to a birthday banquet tomorrow night."

"Whose?" Nina asked, lacking enthusiasm.

"Grandpa George's."

Nina sat up again, asking, "Grandpa George's birthday banquet?"

"His seventieth birthday."

Nina suddenly remembered she had dinner plans for the next day. "I have something else to do tomorrow," she said.

"Besides, you used to attend events alone," she added. Theirs was a secret marriage, and him bringing her to events was a way of confirming her status. He preferred to maintain his single status, so she should not attend such gatherings.

With that, she got out of bed. Passing by Nash, he wanted to grab her. She seemed to be trying to escape from him, going against everything.
