In the car sat Eve and Nina, with Nash in the driver's seat, his expression dark as he glanced at them holding hands in the rearview mirror.

When did they become so close?

He did not want Eve tagging along with them.

"Nash, thank you for your hard work. Let's have dinner together," Eve urged Nash to drive, oblivious to his grim expression. She was famished.

Nash coldly replied, "Did I say I'd take you home? Where's your driver? Get him to pick you up."

He was not going to chauffeur them around.

But Eve clung to Nina, insisting, "We promised to have dinner together. You can't chase me away."

Nina explained, "We're going to my parents' place. I've already arranged for friends to join us for dinner."

"Oh, to your parents' place? Do I need to bring something?" Eve worried about making a good impression on Nina's family.

"Don't worry about it. My parents are very easygoing, and they cook well," Nina reassured her.

Going back to the villa would mean just the few of them, probably a bit dull, unlike going to her parents' where the food would be delicious. Besides, her parents were good cooks and their tastes might suit Eve's preferences.

With a reluctant glance at Nina in the rearview mirror once more, Nash sighed inwardly. Although he was not pleased, but he did not decline either. Starting the car, his expression remained cold, lacking any sign of joy.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived home.

Julia had already prepared a sumptuous meal, knowing Nina would bring a friend over.

"Nina's back?" Julia greeted.

"Mom," Nina called out.

Zion was also very courteous, welcoming them at the door with a smile. "Come in, take a seat."

Julia smiled and said, "What a pretty young girl! Nina, you've made a new friend. Come, sit down. There are fruits over there. Nina, could you peel one for her?"

"Sure."

"Eve, right?" Zion sat across from them, speaking kindly to the girl, "Would you like something to drink? Young people love bubble tea. How about I have Julia make you some? She's quite skilled at it."

Eve widened her eyes, "Mrs. Walker can make bubble tea? That's amazing! Nina, your mom is really talented."

She had only ever had bubble tea at shops and had never tasted homemade.

Nina explained, "After my parents retired, they became fond of experimenting with food. If there's something you want to eat, just ask. They can make almost anything."

"I'm not picky," Eve was easy to please.

They chatted happily, leaving Nash feeling isolated, making him stand out awkwardly. He had to assert his presence somehow, so he said, "Mom, let me help you."
