At the sound of his voice, Nash instinctively furrowed his brows. Something about her tone felt like mockery, but as he looked at Nina across the table, he felt a distance between them.

The dining table was not particularly large, but their separation felt vast to him. He spoke in a low voice, "Nina, come a little closer."

Nina did not refuse him, moving her chair closer to his side and offering him some food. "It's been a while, why aren't you eating? Do you think my cooking isn't good enough?"

Nash watched her scoop food into his bowl, paused for a moment, then looked up at Nina, picking up his utensils. "I've already told you before you started cooking, I'll eat whatever you make."

In front of Nina, he took a bite of the food she had placed in his bowl, nodding in approval. "Mmm, not bad. You've got quite the talent for cooking!"

As Nina appreciated his praise and how he did not pick at her cooking, she felt like they were truly living as husband and wife in that moment.

Nina remained calm as she poured herself another glass of juice. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Nash. "Just a little. It won't harm you, and it'll help you sleep well."

Nash grabbed onto Nina's sleeve, his vision growing blurrier. He struggled to sit up, gasping for breath. "Can you... not leave?"

Nina met his gaze, seeing his genuine desire for her to stay, but she resolutely pulled his hand away.

"Thank you for taking care of me for these seven years. Even without me, you'll find another secretary. There's no one indispensable in this world. You need someone who will take care of you, someone obedient. I believe many people can do that, but I can't anymore."
