Nina slapped Nash hard.

Nash did not flinch, he caught her slap head-on, leaving a bright red mark on his face. He tilted his head and then coldly stared at Nina.

Nina was also shocked, looking at her hand. She had slapped him with considerable force, and her hand was stinging. Her own reaction surprised her as well.

If he found out she was pregnant, he might insist on an abortion, or he might decide to keep the child. But neither option was what she wanted. She could not afford to be soft-hearted.

Even if he decided to keep the child today, who's to say he would not demand a divorce once the child was born, stripping her of custody rights?

She could not allow that to happen. She also could not trust Nash to live peacefully with her.
