The director nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "They said you took someone else's cake, so they wanted to take yours. They also mentioned that you're not welcome here anymore. If you do come, it could spell trouble for us. Miss Walker, I don't want to push you away, but I can't risk the safety of the children."

"This is outrageous!" Angel exclaimed. "No matter what, they shouldn't lay a hand on the children. It's inhumane!"

"I'm sorry, Director. I didn't mean to cause trouble for you," Nina said, shocked by the audacity of those who would target an orphanage.

"It's not your fault. I should thank you. If it weren't for you, the children wouldn't have had meat so soon," the director expressed her gratitude. "But it seems like you've offended someone. They've blocked your opportunities. I know you work for the television station. They want to make sure you can't stay there."

"It must be Michelle!" Angel interjected. "You refused to help her, so she's using these tactics to threaten you!"

Nina looked at Angel, who was visibly upset. "Nina, she wants you to comply. Only if you help her secure that project will she let you continue with the orphanage project. If she can't do it, she won't let you do it either. She's despicable!"

At the television station, the only person Nina could possibly offend was Michelle. Michelle did not hold back either. She wanted Nina to come to her, or rather, to beg her.

Nina understood why the director did not want to call the police, given the fifty or so children in the orphanage. She needed to resolve the issue herself.

Calming down, Nina said, "Alright, I understand. In any case, Director, I've caused you trouble. I'll sort this out, and I hope that next time I come, the children will have meat and a better life!"

"Thank you, Miss Walker. Thank you for your understanding!" the director expressed her gratitude sincerely.

"Miss Walker!" the children called out to Nina, their eyes filled with reluctance to see her leave.

Nina smiled at them. "Don't be afraid, I will come to see you next time and bring you delicious candies!"

Leaving the orphanage, Angel asked, "What should we do?"

"There's no one else it could be," Nina retorted sarcastically. "When you can't solve a problem, you just pass it on to someone else. It seems that you, as a pillar of the station, isn't as capable as you think."

Michelle's expression darkened. She stubbed out her cigarette and crossed her arms, speaking sharply. "Nina, you came here to beg me today. How dare you speak to me like this!"

Nina sipped her water calmly. "Who said I came to beg you? I'm just informing you of the situation. And whether I can arrange the interview with Nash is uncertain."

Michelle tossed aside the cigarette butt, clasping her hands arrogantly as she looked down at Nina. "All you need to do is invite him out for a meal. Thanking an old employee with a dinner should be simple enough, especially since you've been by Nash's side for so many years. I'll take care of the rest."

She was confident she could persuade Nash to agree to the interview.

Nina paused for a moment, setting down her cup and meeting Michelle's gaze. "Do you know about my other identity? I am Nash's wife. Offending me is no different from offending Nash."
