Nina did not know how long she sat there, but a deep sadness enveloped her heart.

Nash lay motionless in Nina’s arms. The room was quiet with only the sound of his steady breathing.

She wanted to ask, but there were no answers. Perhaps she already knew without needing to ask.

Eventually, Nina quietly left.

This time, her feelings were different.

There was more bitterness.

"Ma'am," James called out, seeing her come out silently. "Did you have a fight with Captain? Are you both okay?"

Felix tugged at James's sleeve, signaling him to say less. Seeing Nina's pale face, it was clear things did not go well.

Nina looked up at James and said, "Take good care of him." Then, she walked out the door.

James stood there, sighing at the fate of two people who could not be together. It was like fate was playing a cruel joke.

When Nina returned to the apartment, Wilfred was waiting for her.

"How did it go?" Wilfred asked. "Is everything okay?"

Nina looked at Wilfred and asked, "Do you know Nash?"

The question was so sudden that Wilfred did not know how to respond immediately. "Why are you asking this all of a sudden?"

Nina continued, "When I passed out and you came to my side, it wasn't a coincidence, was it? Did Nash send you?"

Given Nash's strange actions, Nina could not help but suspect. Even today, she could tell Nash had his reasons.

Nina did not fully understand what he meant but could somewhat grasp his intention. Having him by her side during her hardest times was a favor she would remember forever. However, she knew that everyone had their own lives to lead.

"No matter where you go in the future, I hope you live in the light," Nina said, offering him her best wishes.

Wilfred looked at her with gentle eyes. Being close to her was his greatest wish.

This belief had kept him going all these years. He wanted to see Ivy again and live as a dignified person by her side.

"Go on in," Wilfred said, raising his hand but not daring to touch her. He was just waving.

Nina nodded slightly and walked inside. At the door, she turned to him and said, "You should rest early too."

After Nina closed the door, Wilfred did not rush to leave. He leaned against the doorframe, waiting quietly. Just being a door's distance away from her was enough to content him.
