They ran after the car but were quickly left behind.
Through the rearview mirror, Miranda saw Nash in the back seat. His tremors were lessening, which made her even more anxious. She feared his life was slipping away.
"Hang in there, Nash! Stay with me, we're almost there. I will save you, just hold on!" Miranda shouted, trying to keep him conscious.
She wouldn't let him die!
As long as he held on, she would find an antidote. Miranda drove through winding paths, from the forest to the bustling city, and finally to a remote area. She screeched to a halt at an abandoned factory.
The sight of the unfamiliar car on surveillance immediately raised alarms.
Miranda jumped out and shouted, "Dad, it's me! Help!"
She rushed to the back seat and struggled to lift Nash out. People began emerging from the abandoned factory. They were Seth's trusted men.
Seth, observing from the surveillance room, did not panic upon seeing the car. He knew it was Miranda and Nash. This whole situation was a test for Nash. It was to see if he would help eliminate Sawyer.
Seth squinted, still unsure whether to trust Nash. Although they had not communicated directly, he had heard about Nash through Miranda. This operation was a signal that Nash was aligning with him, and his daughter was caught in the middle.
"What are you standing around for? Help me!" Miranda yelled at the men, frantic with worry.
Finally, Seth stepped out.
Seeing Miranda's emotional distress over Nash, he spoke calmly, "Didn't I tell you not to come here unless it was an emergency? And you brought him with you!"
He remained cautious, though, and said, "He's a special forces soldier, our enemy. Good and evil cannot coexist."
Miranda replied, "Who says? Can't he work both sides?"
Seth did not respond immediately. He was also contemplating Nash's motives. Was he truly trying to play both sides?
If they could mutually benefit from this, it would be advantageous. With Nash as a cover, their operations could proceed more smoothly.
They brought Nash into the lab.
The abandoned factory exterior concealed a fully functional laboratory upstairs.
