Nina's questioning left James somewhat flustered.

"Ma'am, you're overthinking it," James decided to stick to the cover story, which was also Nash's wish. "Captain has official business to handle. It's normal for you not to see him."

Nina asked again, "What about Miranda?"

James replied, "That, I don't know."

"Penelope sustained minor injuries and is recovering in the hospital. Oh, and here is your phone. You dropped it in the car that day," James said, handing Nina her phone. "Having it might make things less boring for you."

Although Nash had chosen Miranda in front of Sawyer, Nina could not help but think he might be doing this for her.

The antidote was not with Sawyer. He did not know how to developed poisons.

Someone else could have given him the poison, and the antidote might not have been included.
