Scarlett did not understand. "What are you talking about?"
Nina looked outside again, noticing James’s occasional expressions of unease. She felt that her suspicions were partially correct.

James glared at Scarlett, irritated by her remarks. "Can you stop talking? Who are you calling a big goof? You’re a key suspect and now you’re insulting an officer. If you keep this up, I’ll have you locked up in prison!"
He tried to scare Scarlett into silence, but she wasn’t easily intimidated.
She didn’t want to make things too easy for him either so she put on an act, saying, "You’re quite the bully, throwing your weight around. Does your boss know you do this?"
"You..." James was fuming.
"I’m going too!"
"No, it’s too dangerous," James refused.
"I won't go inside. I’ll stay in the car," Nina said calmly.
James considered it. It wasn’t impossible, as long as her safety was ensured.
