"Okay," Yvonne said without hesitation, taking her back home.

Nina fell silent, feeling an emptiness in her heart. Loving someone meant caring about their attitude and hoping they valued her feelings. In reality, the disparity was significant.

Suddenly, Yvonne slammed on the brakes. Fortunately, Nina was wearing her seatbelt, but she was still startled.

"Damn it, who’s blocking the road with so many cars?" Yvonne's road rage flared up. "Scaring people like this in the middle of the night! Good thing my driving skills are solid."

The headlights made it hard for Nina to see what was happening. She couldn’t make out what was going on.

Then, the car door opened.

Yvonne, ready to yell, bit back her words when she saw who it was.

"It’s late. Come back home with me. We can talk there. I’m back now," Nash stood at the car door, speaking to her calmly.

Hearing his voice, Nina looked up to see Nash’s face close to hers. He seemed to have rushed over and his clothes were disheveled. However, her heart remained cold.

Wasn’t he too busy to come home? Wasn’t he unreachable? Now that she wanted to leave, he was in a hurry. What was he anxious about?

"I’m going back to my parents' house. This isn’t my home," Nina said.

"You’re my wife. How is it not your home? Everything of mine is yours," Nash insisted.

"It’s the truth," Nash said, his eyes sincere. "I know you’re still angry with me. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have hurt you or lost my temper. I’ll be more careful in the future."

Nina looked at him, seeing the sincerity and humility in his eyes. She felt herself softening. His words had already calmed much of her anger.

She was on the verge of forgiving him, but after so many lessons, she remained cautious. "Why do this? You know that the harm can’t be undone. Why do it?"

Nash hesitated, his expression complicated. He was afraid of another incident but couldn’t bear the thought of Nina leaving. Even a night apart was painful for him.

Seeing he couldn’t answer, Nina said, "Move your cars. You’re not only blocking our way but also others. Nash, even if you’re wealthy and powerful, you can’t disrupt other people’s driving."

Nash clenched and unclenched his fists, asking, "If you leave, what will happen to you and the baby?"
