"I told you, I'm not giving up on you," Nash's voice was hoarse, filled with desperation as he clutched Nina's hand tightly.

His eyes, now tinged with a deep red, shimmered with the threat of tears. "Even if I have to die, I want to die in front of you. I can't leave you."

Nina's heart twisted in pain. After everything they had been through, they should have been able to find peace together, yet so many obstacles still stood in their way.

"I know," she whispered, her voice trembling. "But more than anything, I want you to live. Nash, as long as you're alive, there's still hope. If you die, then everything really is over."

In the past five years, she had witnessed too much death, and it left her with a deep fear of it. Just as Nina wanted Nash to live, he, too, wanted nothing more than for her to survive.

"Nina," he began, his voice a soft plea, "no matter how difficult the road ahead is, if we face it together, we can make it through. I promise, I won’t let myself die. I'll stay by your side, protecting you and our child."

This was Nash's resolve, and Nina knew there was no point in arguing further.

Meanwhile, Dominic grew impatient when Nash did not contact him and decided to call. At first, Nash did not want to answer, but realizing there were things that needed to be said, he picked up the phone.

Dominic’s voice was laced with sarcasm. "You talk tough, but I wonder if your life is as tough as your words."

Nash’s survival was once due to Dominic’s intervention. But this time, it was Dominic who had orchestrated the poisoning, hoping to force Nash into compliance. If Nash did not follow orders, Dominic saw no reason to keep him alive.

After a long pause, Nash finally replied, "I love her too much to let myself die. But if it comes to that, I’ll make sure it happens far away from her."

"So you’re suggesting I go back to Salterra, that you don’t support me being with Nina?" Nash cut him off, his voice sharp and his expression steely.
