Wesley looked at Yerick, who was kneeling on the ground, and his heart ached.

He painfully closed his eyes, wanting to say something, but he couldn't bring himself to speak the words at the tip of his tongue.

"Mom, why did you die without telling me who my father is? Were you afraid I would hate him? I did hate him, but now I'm all alone. How I wish I could find my real father. Even though I'd be angry at him, I think I would forgive him, as long as…as long as he's willing to accept me as his son."

Wesley opened his eyes, a flicker of hope flashing in his gaze. Finally, he released the emotions he had been holding back.

"Yerry, I'm your father."

Yerick turned to look at Wesley, his eyes wide with shock. "What did you say?"

Wesley crouched down, knelt on one knee, and held Yerick's hand tightly. "I am your biological father. I'm sorry for only telling you now, Yerry."

"You're my biological father? Why… Why you? You're my godfather!" Yerick's expression was one of disbelief.

"Yerry, that day on the bridge, I saw the photo in your wallet. That's when I started suspecting you were my son. I secretly did a paternity test, and it turned out you really are my son.

"So, I got close to you and acknowledged you as my godson, because you're my real son. Yerry, I'm sorry. I was too cowardly. I was afraid you'd be angry, afraid you'd hate me, so I couldn't tell you the truth. But earlier, you said you wouldn't hate me. I feel like if I don't tell you now, I'd be a real scoundrel."

Yerick stared at him in shock, stumbling as he got up from the ground. "You're really my biological father?"

Wesley stood up and said, "Yerry, to make it up to you, I'm willing to give anything, as long as you can forgive me. I'm truly sorry about your mother. I didn't know she was pregnant. I really didn't know. If I had known, I wouldn't have abandoned her."
