The topic of impending separation felt rather heavy and neither of them wanted to continue.

"Let me peel an apple for you." Rosalie picked an apple from the basket and peeled it with a knife.

They remained silent, not saying a word for a long time.

"Rose, how is Theodore?"

"Some things happened recently and he wanted some time alone. He said he'll be back soon."
