Rosalie had nothing more to say to Sebastian, nor did she wish to continue arguing.

"If that's how you see things, then there's nothing I can do. I can't change your way of thinking," she said.

Sebastian let go of her hand. "Rose, I risked my life to save you. If I hadn't shielded you with my body, you might already be dead. If you don't feel grateful, fine, but now you're blaming me instead? Do you have any idea how disheartening that is?"

"Thank you for saving me," Rosalie said coolly. "I truly owe you one."

"What kind of attitude is that?" Sebastian snapped. "They say that true feelings are revealed in times of crisis. I risked my life to protect you, and what did I get in return? You mock me with sarcasm. How many men would do what I did for you? If it weren't for me, you would have—"

"Sebastian," Rosalie interrupted him, unable to hold back anymore. "You killed my husband, kidnapped me, made me endure an earthquake, and then saved me. And now you want me to thank you? Should I be grateful that you rescued me from the hell you threw me into? Should I appreciate you for cleaning up the mess you created?"

Sebastian's face darkened with fury. His eyes burned with anger and frustration, emotions raging within him. Yet in the end, all he said was, "You're heartless."

Rosalie could no longer hold back her emotions and argued with him. She had been expecting him to explode in rage, but instead, he merely accused her of being ungrateful.

"Yes, I'm heartless. Say whatever you want. You look fine, so just rest. I'm going to see Nana. She needs me," Rosalie said and turned to leave.

"Stop right there," Sebastian ordered.

"What now?" Rosalie asked, barely containing her anger.

"I adopted her to make our family whole, not so she could replace me in your heart. I already know I don't mean much to you, but now it's clear that you care about Nana more than you care about me. And that...displeases me."

Rosalie turned back to face him. "Are you insane? You're jealous of a little girl?"
