How could they reject me? Taking the money but not delivering? What kind of scam is this? he thought 

No matter how much he ranted and cursed, the other side never responded. 

Thinking about the huge sum of money he had spent to get this job, he felt like he couldn’t breathe, 

He thought about reporting it to the Security Bureau, but buying a job wasn’t exactly legal. Besides, he thought if this Kian’s doing, even if he went to the Security Bureau, there was no way he could win against Kian 

After thinking it over, he had no choice but to swallow his anger.

“Allowance?” His mother gave him a contemptuous once–over. 

Looking at him without any motherly affection, she finally saw him for what he was–a useless waste of space with absolutely no redeeming qualities. 

She said, “You’re already an adult, and you’re still asking me for money? When Kian was your age, he was already making a name for himself on the battlefield 

The fat guy’s smile froze. “Why are you bringing him up?” 

When he was a kid, he had always been jealous of Kian. They had the same mother, but Kian was an S–level genius, while he was just an E–level nobody. Even after taking all sorts of expensive genetic enhancement drugs, he barely made it to D–level 

Later, when Kian left the family, he had mixed feelings. On one hand, he lost someone he could bully and exploit. On the other hand, he was finally free from Kian’s overwhelming shadow.

‘So what’s going on today?‘ the fat guy thought, completely at a loss. 

“Starting today, I won’t give you another cent.” The humiliation she had suffered at the cafe had completely crushed her. She refused to waste any more money on him.

With a cold voice, she declared, “Allowing you to live in my house is the last bit of mercy I’ll give you. If you don’t get a job. then you can starve.” 

The fat guy felt like he had been struck by lightning. He had no idea what he did wrong. He bowed and begged, but his mother’s heart had already turned to stone.

Nyx quickly stopped Sera before she got too excited. 

Nyx then kissed her sad little snake and said, “Ray, you’ve done nothing wrong. You’re such a good boy, and everybody loves 

you. 

“The ones who yelled at you are the real bad guys. They’ve done bad things before, and they’re just scared of you because they have a guilty conscience.” 

To show Ray just how much people liked him, Nyx and Kian took him out for a little trip. 

This time, they didn’t use any visual disruption devices. No matter where they went, they drew everyone’s attention. 

Little Black Mamba coiled around Nyx’s neck, entwined with the blue iris necklace Kian gave her. He looked just like a fancy accessory for Nyx. 

Naturally, all eyes were on him. As he listened to the people around him showering him with compliments, his eyes started. to sparkle, and the tip of his tail lifted slightly. 

“Lord Nyx, Lord Kian.” A voice grabbed Nyx’s attention.
